The first official BMW Touring based on the BMW M2022 G3x platform has been available since November 8 and, in addition to height-adjustable KW coilover springs, the KW V4 coilover suspension for the BMW M3 Competition Touring (G81) is also available. The coilover suspension made of stainless steel can be manually adjusted in the damping characteristics, similar to the standard suspension of the BMW M4 GTS. In this way, the low-speed and high-speed compression stage as well as the low-speed rebound stage can be adjusted intuitively. With the KW suspension, the sporty station wagon steers precisely and remains good-natured at all times when the load changes. Thanks to the complex multi-valve damper technology, the sporty driving comfort also benefits, even with maximum lowering. According to the parts certificate, the coilover kit covers a stepless desired lowering of 20 to 35 millimeters on the front axle and 15 to 30 millimeters on the rear axle of the all-wheel drive M-Touring. The recommended retail price for the KW V4 coilover kit is €5.699.

As an alternative to the well-known height-adjustable KW coilover springs, the KW V4 coilover kit for the BMW M3 Touring (G81) is now also available with a parts certificate. The coilover kit scores with demanding customers primarily due to the increased driving behavior and the option of being able to further adjust the damping characteristics individually. The KW V4 has already been released for the BMW M4 Cabriolet, M4 Coupé and M3 Sedan in advance.

Guarantee for driving dynamics and driving pleasure

"The new KW V4 coilover kit for the BMW M3 Competition Touring is a further development of our special OE coilover kit for the BMW M4 GTS (F82)", explains KW Brand Manager Florian Johann. "While we still used an expansion tank with our original equipment chassis, this is no longer necessary with our latest generation of three-way adjustable dampers." Even in the default street setting of the KW V4, the new BMW M3 Competition Touring transforms into a completely different car.

Despite the stepless lowering of 20 to 35 millimeters on the front axle and 15 to 30 millimeters on the rear axle, the KW multi-valve technology with the three-way adjustable dampers ensures noticeably more driving comfort with typical high-speed excitations. Used with the M3 Touring in conjunction with the KW V4 coilover suspension driven over short bumps or transverse joints, the chassis absorbs these road bumps cleanly. Anyone who constantly drives on bad roads in everyday life can set the preset setup more comfortably. Of course, this also works in the other direction and the chassis can be tuned to be sportier.

Wide range of characteristic curves for individual customization

The gold-colored adjustment wheel is used to adjust the damping in the high-speed compression stage and the purple-colored wheel in the low-speed compression stage. When the valves are opened, the compression damping is reduced and the M3 Touring body dives faster when steering. To a certain extent, the compression stage influences the immersion speed of the damper piston rod and thus also the steering behavior, pitching and rolling of the body structure. If the compression level is increased, the piston rod dips more slowly. The sporty all-wheel touring is all the more stable when steering. The steering behavior becomes more precise the tighter the compression is set. The adjustable low-speed rebound stage, which is adjusted via the piston rod adjustment wheel, has a direct influence on the working speed when the piston rod rebounds and how quickly the chassis spring relaxes back to its original position.

In a manner of speaking, the diameters of the rebound valves are opened for a more comfortable driving behavior and closed for a tighter tuning. Braking, accelerating and steering are typical low-speed stimuli in everyday driving. "The scope of delivery of the KW V4 always includes a setup recommendation and adjustment instructions," Florian Johann continues. "Many of our specialist retail partners also offer a chassis adjustment to the respective wheel/tire combination as a service." Available from 5.669 euros KW V4 coilover kit for the BMW M3 Competition Touring can now be ordered from specialist dealers or directly from KW. Alternatively, for the BMW M3 Touring as for all other BMW M3 and BMW M4 Models on the G8x platform are available with the height-adjustable KW coil springs if only the optics are to be adjusted by lowering.
