With the official presentation in the run-up to the SRO race weekend at the "VIRginia International Raceway" (USA), BMW M Motorsport has heralded the start of the sales phase for the new BMW M4 GT4, which will continue the success story of its predecessor in the globally established GT2023 category from the 4 season target. On Friday, the vehicle could be seen for the first time in the BMW M Motorsport livery, having previously successfully completed a test race in Tarn-Livery on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER). The new BMW M4 GT4 is entering the sales phase with many technical highlights and a net price of 187.000 euros. Production will start in October 2022 in order to be able to deliver the first vehicles to the teams in time for the start of the 2023 season.

2022 BMW M4 GT4

"We took on the challenge of developing a successor to the extremely successful first generation of the BMW M4 GT4," says Franciscus van Meel, Managing Director of BMW M GmbH. “To do this, we combined a wide range of detailed customer feedback, an experienced development team and the sixth generation of the BMW M4 production vehicle as a basis. The result is a faster, even more reliable and very emotional new BMW M4 GT4.”

The new BMW M4 GT4 was developed with the aim of winning races and titles like its predecessor. To do this, the latest key technologies of the production model were combined with a number of components from its big brother, the BMW M4 GT3. The developers focused on four key areas: performance, reliability, cost efficiency and ease of maintenance. In addition, further developments in ergonomics and electronics ensure a significantly improved customer experience. This includes the M Track Cockpit, which enables many vehicle settings and checks to be made directly via the controls, thus minimizing the more complex connection of a laptop.

When developing the new BMW M4 GT4, BMW M Motorsport had the support of strong partners behind it. Bcomp, H&R, PUMA, RAVENOL and RECARO contributed valuable expertise in their areas and thus made an important contribution to the success of the project. After the presentation in the USA, the BMW M4 GT4 will enter its final test phase. Among other things, the vehicle will be at the start of the next round of the Nürburgring endurance series and the 24 Hours of Portimão (POR). Production for delivery to customers will begin in October 2022. The net price of the BMW M4 GT4 will be EUR 187.000. Thanks to the near-series development and the forthcoming SRO homologation, the vehicle can be used in all GT4 racing series worldwide.
