3D design carbon body kit on the BMW 8 Series Cabriolet (G14)

As one of the first tuners ever, the Japanese team from 3D Design had one in early January 2020 BMW M850i ​​(G15) Coupe in Sonic Speed ​​Blue with body kit for Tokyo Auto Show presented. And now the company shows us with a few successful pictures how the high-quality visible carbon aerodynamic parts are made on a white specimen. The result is because of the light paint, we find, a number more elegant, because the dark carbon components are even more in focus. Of course, the M Sport package is also the basis for the subtle aerodynamics package in the open temptation from Munich. The Japanese install a subtle front splitter on the bulky front apron with the large air inlets and the side skirt attachments are also part of the kit.

The most striking component is definitely the diffuser insert for the rear apron and the small spoiler lip is also installed on the tailgate. If desired, the high-quality components can of course also be repainted later, but that would be a shame in terms of the beautiful carbon surface. In combination with the paintwork, the body kit looks just right without being too much in the foreground. And like almost every 3D Design vehicle, the white photo vehicle is equipped with its own wheelset. And with 3D design type Forged III forged wheels in the format 20 inches. While the M850i ​​(G15) Coupe linked above had installed the wheel set in a combination in silver and body color, this time they opted for a variant in high-gloss black and silver-lacquered spokes. In our opinion, the better, because less noticeable, variant.

In the end, of course, it's all a matter of taste. The wheel set can be delivered directly from 3D Design in four different color variants. There is high-gloss black, matt black, brushed aluminum and the bicolor look shown by the current vehicle. Incidentally, the rims are available for almost the entire BMW range. No matter whether M2, M3, M4, M5 or normal 3, 4, 5, X2, X3, X4 up to the Z4. In combination with a subtle lowering by a few millimeters, the wheel set fits perfectly into the wheel arch and in conjunction with the elegant body kit, the 8-series Cabriolet is optimally staged. We currently have no further details on the G14 Cabrio from 3D Design. If we receive timely information on further changes not previously mentioned, there is of course an update for this report.
