For many off-road fans, the new version of the Land Rover Defender is not a real one landy more. It is too big, too modern and too luxurious to be able to preserve the rustic character of the designated predecessor. In essence, it is much closer to an extra robust Range Rover than to the classic Defender, which it replaces in the British model portfolio and whose name it also bears. The company can remedy that Bowler, which is enjoying great success with various conversion kits and replicas of classic Land Rover models. Bowler's XNUMXth model has now been completed. On the occasion of the anniversary, a special model with a name is now being created Bowler 100th Edition Defender 90 on. We would like to present this to you today.
Off-road icon for collectors and enthusiasts
The special model has new bumpers, side skirts and rear steps. There is also a new headlight surround, a rollover protection, an internally mounted spare wheel, various attachments made of stainless steel and exclusive graphics and logos. Also there are special LED auxiliary lights, which make the night bright as day if necessary. The vehicle rolls on BF Goodrich AT 285/60 R18 tires and is fitted with 18-inch white-finish multi-spoke alloy wheels. The brakes were also upgraded to provide optimal deceleration from all speeds.
Many modifications have been made in the interior!
According to Bowler, it was even Land Rover's 4×4 specialists themselves who provided better noise insulation in the interior of the special edition. Furthermore, the vehicle has a leather cover on the upper part of the dashboard, an AlcantaraSport steering wheel from MOMO and a new shifter. For this purpose, the original front seats were replaced Sports Seats of the Recaro SVX 60th Anniversary type and the headliner lined with Alcantara. Last but not least, there is an Alpine infotainment system with rear-view camera and sound system in the cockpit.
A Stage 2 kit breathes more life into the engine!
Unfortunately, we don't know exactly which engine is in the vehicle. However, according to our information, it became with a Stage 2 kit and a better one Intercooler equipped to generate more power and torque. In addition, the special Land Rover got one Sports exhaust system. Unfortunately, we do not have any information on performance and acceleration, but the vehicle has selectable four-wheel drive with a reduction gear and locks.
Our conclusion:
- This vehicle, which can be purchased for £78.000, is a dream for all off-road fans. It sounds paradoxical, but from our point of view, such an off-roader should end up in loving collectors' hands and not be abused off-road.
