BRABUS 800 SUV Coupé: SUV Express based on Mercedes GLE!

The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC + Coupé is the perfect basis from which the engineers and designers at BRABUS turn a high-performance SUV Coupé in a class of its own. The BRABUS 800 SUV Coupé is powered by an eight-cylinder biturbo with 588 kW / 800 PS and a maximum torque of 1.000 Nm. This catapults the supercar from standstill to 3,4 km / h in just 100 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km / h. Sporty, elegantly styled aerodynamic components made of carbon fiber and tailor-made BRABUS wheels with a diameter of up to 24 inches give the all-wheel drive Fastback a particularly exclusive look. For personalization of the interior, BRABUS fine leather equipment is available in any desired color and many different designs.

BRABUS 800 SUV coupe

The four-liter V8 biturbo of the current Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC + Coupé has an output of 450 kW / 612 PS ex works and thus offers the perfect starting point for a top-class BRABUS supercar. With the know-how from more than four decades of tuning, the engine engineers and technicians of the world's largest manufacturer-independent automotive refiner developed a performance upgrade that elicits 138 kW / 188 hp more peak power and 150 Nm more torque from this engine.

Of course, the BRABUS tuning harmonises perfectly with the integrated mild hybrid starter generator of the GLE 63 S. In order to achieve a peak output of 588 kW / 800 PS at 5.900 rpm and a maximum torque of 1.000 Nm in just 3.500 tours, the Both series turbos were replaced by special superchargers with a larger compressor unit and modified trunk group with reinforced axial bearings, which produce a maximum boost pressure of 1,6 bar.

BRABUS PowerXtra additional control unit

Also part of this conversion is the BRABUS PowerXtra additional control unit, which is adapted to the engine electronics of the GLE 63 S using plug-and-play technology and supplies the engine with new maps for injection, boost pressure control and ignition. This not only guarantees maximum performance, but also exemplary emission behavior and flawless stability. This is guaranteed by the exemplary BRABUS tuning guarantee for 3 years up to 100.000 kilometers (according to BRABUS guarantee conditions, as of July 2013). BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL. This means that the BRABUS 800 SUV Coupé achieves outstanding performance: from a standstill, the more than 2,3-ton all-wheel-drive car accelerates to 3,4 km / h in just 100 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km / h. Alternatively, there is the BRABUS PowerXtra B63 - 40 Performance Upgrade for all GLE 700 models, which gives the charged 4.0 liter V8 64,7 kW / 88 PS more power.

With the optionally available BRABUS memory system, the standard automatic start-stop system of the GLE 63 can be switched off permanently if desired and reactivated at the push of a button. To give the eight-cylinder biturbo a very special acoustic touch, too, there is BRABUS Boost Xtra. Two special adapters for the bypass valves ensure that when the driver releases the accelerator, the characteristic "blow off", the blow-off sound, can be clearly heard.

The ideal addition to engine tuning is the installation of the BRABUS stainless steel high-performance exhaust system with exhaust flap control and four BRABUS titanium / carbon tailpipes with a diameter of 90 millimeters. This system has an active sound management to choose between powerful V8 sound in sport mode or discreet whisper in "comfort" mode. Of course, BRABUS also gives the GLE 63 with hatchback a particularly sporty look.

For this purpose, the refiner's designers developed tailor-made aerodynamic components. All parts are made of visible carbon, optionally with a high-gloss or matt seal. The BRABUS front spoiler, which is attached to the lower part of the apron and pulled up like a flap on both sides, not only gives the coupé an even more striking face together with the BRABUS front grille: thanks to its sophisticated design, this part minimizes lift at high speeds the front axle, which further optimizes driving stability. The tailor-made air ducts for the side air inlets in the front bumper set sporty visual accents.

The front view looks even more dynamic with the BRABUS air inlets, which are integrated into the radiator grille on the left and right. In the entrance on the driver's side there is a clip with the BRABUS logo, the lighting of which is activated when the door handle is pulled or the driver approaches the supercar with the key card. The rear end is refined with the BRABUS diffuser insert, which fits exactly into the rear bumper and has tailor-made cutouts on the left and right for the tailpipes of the BRABUS sports exhaust system. The carbon panels for the side air outlets in the rear apron set additional sporty accents. The three-part BRABUS rear spoiler completes the exciting design together with the BRABUS visible carbon fiber extensions that replace the standard elements on the front and rear axles.

Rims from 22 to 24 inches in diameter

Of course, there are also BRABUS monoblock light alloy wheels in various designs and diameters from 63 to 22 inches for the GLE 24 Coupé. The supercar shown here is equipped with BRABUS Monoblock Y "BLACK PLATINUM" high-tech forged wheels in a combination of 10Jx23 on the front and 12Jx23 on the rear axle. Thanks to the latest manufacturing technology, this wheel design with Y-shaped spokes tapering to the outer edge offers an excellent combination of lightweight construction and maximum strength. High-performance road tires from technology partners Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA in sizes 295/35 R 23 and 335/30 R 23 make perfect use of the available space in the wheel arches. With a special BRABUS control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension, the high-performance SUV coupé is lowered by approx. 25 millimeters.

This not only makes the all-wheel drive look more exciting, but also experiences a further increase in driving dynamics by lowering the center of gravity. BRABUS also enjoys a global reputation in the interior design sector: the in-house upholstery shop can produce exclusive BRABUS fine leather equipment for the BRABUS 800 SUV Coupé, which is individually tailored to the customer's wishes. The finest, particularly soft and breathable leather and Alcantara in any desired color are processed with precision by hand. The selection of upholstery designs with precise stitching and perforations is just as diverse. The BRABUS interior sets in fine wood and carbon also offer maximum individuality in terms of colors and surfaces.

A wide range of sporty accessories for the cockpit rounds off the portfolio: The range extends from door locking pins, pedals and the ergonomically shaped BRABUS RACE shift paddles on the aluminum steering wheel to stainless steel door sill trims with an illuminated BRABUS logo that changes color in line with the interior lighting .
