BRABUS 900 DEEP BLUE supercar

The BRABUS 900 DEEP BLUE is built in Bottrop on the basis of the current Mercedes-AMG G 63. In keeping with the name of this special model, the body was given a special paint finish in the “DEEP BLUE” color specially developed for BRABUS, which is inspired by the deep sea. This includes all chrome and plastic elements on the body.

The look of the supercar is characterized by the BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody version. It makes the current G model appear even more powerful and at the same time makes this exclusive off-road vehicle ten centimeters wider than the base car. In addition to the fender flares, this body conversion also includes special aprons for the front and rear, which give this supercar a decidedly sporty design. Numerous visible carbon elements such as the power dome bonnet attachment and the radiator grille surround, the side air outlets on the back of the extensions and the housings of the exterior mirrors complete the athletic outfit. The center sections of the front and rear aprons, which are reminiscent of an underride guard, and the rear wing are also made of glossy, sealed carbon. The BRABUS designers' attention to detail extends to the BRABUS 900 logos on the rear, which have carbon inlays.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR extensions create space for high-tech wheels with a 24-inch king-size diameter on the DEEP BLUE supercar. The forged BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" ten-spoke rims were painted high-gloss black for this vehicle. At the front, 10×24 wheels with 295/30 ZR 24 high-performance road tires make perfect use of the available space in the widened wheel arches. 12×24 rims with 355/25 ZR 24 tires are mounted on the rear axle. The BRABUS Ride Control aluminum coilover kit, developed in cooperation with technology partner KW, is specially tailored to the high-performance road tires. Its front axle struts and rear axle shock absorbers with integrated heat sinks are milled from the solid. This allows the supercar to be individually lowered by a maximum of 45 millimeters. The damping can be adjusted between extremely comfortable and sporty using the DYNAMIC SELECT switch in the cockpit.

High-performance engines that combine performance and durability to perfection have been the hallmark of all BRABUS supercars for more than four and a half decades. This also applies to the BRABUS 900 DEEP BLUE, whose number in the type designation comes from the BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 biturbo displacement engine, which produces an enormous 63 kW / 231 hp more power than the standard engine of the G 315.

The recipe for this is as complex as it is proven: more displacement produces more power. For this purpose, the cylinder volume of the eight-cylinder, four-valve biturbo engine has been expanded from the standard 3 cm³ to 982 cm³ in our in-house high-tech engine construction. Not only are the cylinder bores enlarged to 4 millimeters, which is supplemented with suitably dimensioned forged pistons. A special crankshaft milled from solid and finely balanced together with forged high-performance connecting rods extends the stroke to exactly 407 millimeters.

Charging system thoroughly revised

In order to achieve the desired increase in performance, the turbocharging system has been thoroughly revised: Two BRABUS special turbochargers with a larger compressor unit and a special core assembly with reinforced axial bearings produce a maximum boost pressure of 1,4 bar. Two special BRABUS BoostXtra valves ensure an exciting blow-off sound when changing loads.

The engine conversion also includes larger downpipes with a diameter of 76 millimeters and metal catalytic converters. The BRABUS stainless steel high-performance exhaust system has two tailpipes on each side of the vehicle in front of the rear wheels, as has been typical of a BRABUS sports exhaust system for the G model for decades. Matching the sporty look of this supercar, they are framed by a sporty visible carbon cover with an integrated, red ROCKET Launch Ambience Light. The exclusive look is accompanied by an exciting eight-cylinder sound thanks to active sound management. At the push of a button on the center console, you can switch between a robust V8 sound in Sport mode or a discreet whisper in "Coming Home" mode.

Since such a powerful power plant also requires more breathing air, the intake system has been extensively modified. Special high-pressure pumps were installed for an optimized fuel supply. The V8 is optically fine-tuned with the BRABUS engine cover in red carbon. In order to achieve outstanding performance, exemplary refinement, maximum stability and emissions that meet the strict EURO VI+ emissions standard, the BRABUS engine engineers and electronics technicians undertook extensive bench tests and test drives. For maximum operational safety, BRABUS only uses MOTUL high-performance lubricants.

The enormous effort during development is reflected in unique performance values: With 662 kW / 900 hp at just 6.200 rpm, a top value in this vehicle category is achieved as well as with the enormous maximum torque of 1 Nm, which is already available at 250 rpm . In the vehicle, this value is electronically limited to 2 Nm to protect the power transmission.

Driving performance like a thoroughbred sports car

This enables the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION to perform like a thoroughbred sports car: from a standing start, the all-wheel-drive SUV, which weighs more than 2,5 tons, catapults itself to 3,7 km/h in just 100 seconds. The top speed is electronically increased to 280 km/h to take care of the tires km/h limited. Of course, the interior designers of the tuning company also created a particularly exclusive BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior for this supercar in slate gray leather, which was accentuated with blue BRABUS labels and numerous elements such as controls, air vents, speaker grilles or panels, which are also glazed blue.

This elegant interior demonstrates the attention to detail that goes into the BRABUS upholstery shop: A typical example of this is the precise shell-shaped quilting of the seat surfaces and parts of the door panels. These leather parts were also perforated with millimeter precision. The identical quilting pattern is also used on the floor mats and in the trunk, which is also upholstered with the finest leather. High-gloss sealed carbon panels and grab handles in the cockpit emphasize the sporty character of the BRABUS 900 DEEP BLUE.

Other exclusive BRABUS elements in the interior are the blue varnished pedals and aluminum door locking pins as well as the carbon door sill panels with illuminated BRABUS logo, which changes color to match the ambient lighting. Special BRABUS door hinges make it easier to get in and out of the rear because the doors can be opened at a 90-degree angle and thus significantly wider than in the production car. The BRABUS 900 DEEP BLUE costs 499.000 euros. (593.810 euros in Germany including 19 percent VAT).
