With the expansion to 4,5 liters and an efficient high-performance charging system, this engine produces a peak output of 662 kW / 900 hp and a maximum torque of 1 Nm, which is limited to 250 Nm in the car. This catapults the exclusive SUV supercar from standstill to 1 km / h in just 050 seconds. The electronic speed limiter brakes the five-door all-wheel drive coupé at 3,2 km / h.

The BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 biturbo displacement engine makes the GLE 63 S 4MATIC + Coupé and of course its class brother with the normal five-door body a high-performance automobile in a class of its own. In order to expand the eight-cylinder engine from the standard 3 cm³ to 982 cm³, not only are the cylinder bores enlarged to 4 millimeters and appropriately sized forged pistons installed. A special crankshaft milled from solid and then finely balanced with a stroke extended to 407 millimeters and also forged, longer connecting rods complete the expansion of the displacement.
BRABUS 900 V8 displacement engine
After opening the bonnet, the BRABUS 900 V8 displacement engine can be recognized by the BRABUS engine cover with red carbon fibers. The engine is supplied with fuel via two high-pressure pumps with increased delivery rates and an additional booster pump. Other, just as elementary, components of this high-performance engine are hidden invisibly in the engine compartment: The two series turbos are being replaced by special BRABUS superchargers with a larger compressor unit and modified fuselage groups with reinforced axial bearings.
Larger downpipes with a diameter of 75 millimeters are just as much a part of this engine conversion as metal catalytic converters and special particle filters. The exhaust side is completed by the BRABUS stainless steel sports exhaust system with integrated exhaust flaps and two 90 millimeter BRABUS titanium / carbon tailpipes on each side of the vehicle. This system allows active sound management with a robust V8 sound when the system is open or discreet whispering in "Coming Home" mode.
The BRABUS engine engineers and electronics technicians used their enormous know-how to optimally coordinate these high-performance components in extensive test bench tests and in equally extensive test drives. This not only guarantees maximum performance, but also exemplary emission behavior and flawless stability. BRABUS documents this with the exemplary BRABUS tuning guarantee for 3 years up to 100 kilometers (according to BRABUS guarantee conditions, as of July 000). BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL.

The enormous design effort is reflected in outstanding performance: the peak output of 662 kW / 900 PS at just 6200 rpm is just as much a reference value in this vehicle category as the enormous maximum torque of 1250 Nm between 2500 and 4500 tours. In order to protect the power transmission, this value is electronically limited in the vehicle to 1050 Nm. The driving performance of the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION, which is shown here in the special “Superior Gray” paintwork, corresponds to these outstanding values: the SUV, which weighs around two and a half tons, catapults itself from a standing start to 3,2 km / h in just 100 seconds. With the combination of tires, the electronic speed limiter only intervenes at 330 km / h.
Exciting looks and optimal aerodynamic function: the BRABUS designers developed body components made of the high-tech material carbon for the GLE 63 Coupé. They not only make the Fastback appear even more spectacular: Thanks to their sophisticated shape, the front spoiler lip, which is attached to the lower part of the apron, minimizes the lift on the front axle at high speeds, which further optimizes driving stability. The side air inlets in the front bumper, together with the BRABUS front grille and the two RAM-Air air inlets, complete the striking BRABUS look. There is a clasp with the ROCKET logo in the entrance on the driver's side. When a door handle is operated or the driver approaches the supercar with the key card, the emblem's integrated lighting is activated.
Rear apron with carbon panels
Carbon covers for the side air outlets and a diffuser insert were developed for the rear apron, which perfectly sets the scene for the four tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system. The three-part rear spoiler rounds off the aerodynamic concept for the GLE Coupé.
BRABUS replaces the standard wheel arch extensions on the front and rear axles with sporty carbon fiber extensions. BRABUS light alloy rims for the GLE 63 are available in different designs and 21, 22, 23 or 24 inch diameters. The most exclusive variant is shown here, BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" wheels with a diameter of 24 inches and aero discs made of carbon fiber. Thanks to the latest forging technology, these ten-spoke rims combine lightweight construction with excellent strength. The size 10Jx24 wheels with 295/30 ZR 24 high-performance road tires are used on the front axle. At the rear, 355/25 ZR 24 tires on 12Jx24 rims ensure grip and a spectacular look.

BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION Supercars with a top speed of 330 km / h are supplied with BRABUS Monoblock Y "PLATINUM EDITION" forged wheels with a 23 inch diameter and Continental high-performance tires. At the front, ten inch wide wheels with 295/30 ZR 23 tires are then driven. On the rear axle there are 12Jx23 rims with 335/30 ZR 23 tires.
The BRABUS control module for the air suspension, which lowers the high-performance SUV by approx. 25 millimeters, also contributes to the agility in handling that is outstanding for an SUV. This not only makes the all-wheel-drive car look more exciting, but also experiences a further increase in driving dynamics by lowering the center of gravity.
The Bottrop-based refiner also enjoys an international reputation in the interior design sector: the in-house saddlery also produces interior fittings for the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION that are tailored to the customer's wishes down to the last detail. The finest BRABUS Mastik leather, a particularly soft and breathable type of leather, and Alcantara in any desired color are precisely handcrafted to create a high-quality BRABUS fine leather interior. The BRABUS interior sets in fine wood and carbon also offer maximum variety in color and surfaces.

The first example of the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION painted in “Superior Gray” is also matched to the exterior color in the interior. The BRABUS fine leather equipment was upholstered in gray leather that matches the outer skin. The seat strips and inner parts of the door panels were quilted to the nearest millimeter and also perforated. The leather was trimmed with red piping to match the red painted brake calipers and the two red signature stripes in the radiator grille. In addition, all trim parts in the cockpit were glazed red. The pedals, door pins and the RACE shift paddles on the steering wheel are in the same color. Stainless steel door sills with the BRABUS logo illuminated in the same way as the ambient lighting in the interior round off the interior.
