Since BRABUS was founded in 1977, the color black has characterized countless legendary supercars from the Bottrop-based manufacturer. On the occasion of the 45th birthday of today's largest manufacturer-independent automobile tuner in the world, there is now a new model in the BRABUS Monochrome Design Series that celebrates this tradition consistently down to the last detail. The BRABUS 900 SUPERBLACK based on the current Mercedes-AMG G 63 is a high-performance off-roader with particularly exclusive equipment. The new supercar from BRABUS is powered by the most powerful engine from the company's own high-tech engine construction, the BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 engine. The eight-cylinder engine with two turbochargers, which has been expanded to a displacement of 4,5 liters, delivers 662 kW / 900 hp and produces a maximum torque of 1250 Nm, which is limited to 1 Nm in the vehicle to protect the power transmission.

The acceleration capacity of the all-wheel drive supercar, which weighs more than 2,5 tons, can only be equaled by a few sports cars: 3,7 seconds from 0 – 100 km/h are just as exceptional for an off-road vehicle as, depending on the equipment and tires, only at 280 km/h h limited top speed. Visually, the all-black special model impresses with the excitingly styled BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody version with numerous carbon elements and 24-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" high-tech forged wheels. The black color scheme in combination with sporty carbon accents is consistently continued in the exclusive BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior.
The BRABUS 900 SUPERBLACK special model not only impresses with its exciting looks and its exclusive equipment, but above all with its high performance in its purest form. The 900 in the model designation reveals that this off-road vehicle is powered by the BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 biturbo displacement engine, which was designed on the basis of the engine from the G 63, and with its BRABUS engine cover with red carbon fibers is also a visual treat.
The path to 231 kW / 315 hp more power than its basic engine is the latest example of the BRABUS philosophy, which has been successful for decades, of achieving more power through more displacement. In this case, the cylinder volume of the eight-cylinder four-valve biturbo engine is increased from the normal 3 cm³ to 982 cm³. Responsible for this is not only the enlargement of the cylinder bores to 4 millimeters, which BRABUS realizes in-house with state-of-the-art machinery. The forged BRABUS special pistons, which are connected to the milled from solid and also finely balanced BRABUS special crankshaft with a stroke extended to 407 millimeters, are matched to the increased diameter with special high-performance connecting rods.

Of course, the supercharging system also plays an enormously important role in the increase in performance: The series superchargers are replaced by two BRABUS special turbos with a larger compressor unit and a special core assembly with reinforced axial bearings. They deliver a maximum boost pressure of 1,4 bar. Two BRABUS BoostXtra valves produce an exciting blow-off noise when the load changes. Appropriately, the fuel supply is upgraded with special high-pressure pumps. The exhaust system received larger downpipes with a diameter of 76 millimeters, metal catalytic converters and special Otto particle filters from the BRABUS engineers. As has been characteristic of a BRABUS sports exhaust system for the G model for decades, there are also two tailpipes placed on each side of the vehicle in front of the rear wheels. They are framed by a sporty visible carbon panel with an integrated ROCKET Launch Ambience Light. Their integrated flaps offer active sound management. At the push of a button on the center console, a particularly powerful V8 sound can be activated in sport mode or the subtle "Coming Home" mode.
The complex engine conversion also includes a sophisticated tuning of the engine electronics by the BRABUS engine engineers and electronics specialists. The new mappings for injection, ignition and boost pressure control were achieved with extensive test bench tests and extensive test drives. This not only guarantees optimal power development, but also compliance with the strict emission standards and flawless stability. BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from technology partner MOTUL for the entire powertrain.
662 kW / 900 hp at 6200 rpm & 1.050 Nm at 2900 rpm
The perfect interaction of all components and modifications produces excellent performance values: With 662 kW / 900 hp at just 6 rpm, the enlarged eight-cylinder acts just as confidently as with its gigantic maximum torque: The 200 Nm achieved during development are used to To protect differentials and drive shafts, electronically limited to 1 Nm, which is already available at 250 tours. This enables the BRABUS 1 SUPERBLACK to perform like a thoroughbred sports car: the new BRABUS supercar catapults itself from a standstill to 050 km/h in just 2 seconds. Depending on the equipment and tires, the top speed is electronically limited to 900 km/h. In keeping with the name of this special model, not only the body of the BRABUS 900 SUPERBLACK is painted black. There are also brake calipers painted in the same color as well as the BRABUS logos. In addition, all chrome and plastic parts were painted in black.
The BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody version for the G-Class also ensures the spectacular appearance of this supercar. It gives the exclusive off-road vehicle an even more powerful appearance and at the same time makes it ten centimeters wider than the base car. In addition to the flared fenders, this body conversion also includes special aprons at the front and rear, which give this supercar an even more dynamic design. This also includes the side air outlets behind the front and rear wheel arch extensions, which are made of visible carbon in this edition, as well as the center parts of the front and rear aprons made from the same high-tech material, which are visually reminiscent of an underride guard.

A BRABUS 900 SUPERBLACK also includes decidedly sporty accents made of high-gloss, sealed carbon fiber: the bonnet attachment and the LED light element above the windscreen are just as much a part as the side protective strips, the door handles and the spare wheel cover. If desired, a rear spoiler with integrated carbon fiber elements can be fitted. The new supercar rolls on forged BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" alloy wheels, whose ten-spoke design was of course also painted in the vehicle color. At the front, 10Jx24 wheels with 295/30 ZR 24 road tires perfectly fill the space under the spacers. 12Jx24 rims with 355/25 ZR 24 tires are used on the rear axle.
The BRABUS Ride Control aluminum coilover kit matched to the high-performance road tires is another special development from the Bottrop-based manufacturer. For this purpose, the front axle struts and rear axle shock absorbers with integrated heat sinks were milled from the solid. This allows the supercar to be individually lowered by a maximum of 45 millimeters. The damping can be adjusted using the drive select switch in the cockpit. In the cockpit, it's not just the "BRABUS 900 SUPERBLACK" badge on the handle on the passenger side that catches the eye. The interior designers of the refiner also created a particularly exclusive BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior for this supercar. Matching the body paintwork, the interior is dominated by particularly soft and skin-friendly black leather.

This classy interior also demonstrates the upholstery design, the great attention to detail that goes into the BRABUS upholstery shop: A typical example of this is the quilting of the seat surfaces and the inner parts of the door panels. These leather sections are also perforated with millimeter precision. The floor of the vehicle cabin and the entire trunk were also quilted in the same design. In addition to the speedometer up to 300 km/h, the exclusive interior of the new supercar also includes numerous sporty carbon elements: the shift paddles and parts of the steering wheel rim are made of this compound, as are the covers on the dashboard, the door panels and the center console. Carbon door sill trims on the four doors and the tailgate also set attractive accents with a BRABUS logo that changes color in line with the ambient interior lighting.
Matching the cockpit, which is kept entirely in black, all controls, air vents, speaker grilles and panels have been glazed in matt shadow chrome. Other exclusive BRABUS accessories in the interior are the pedals and aluminum door-lock pins glazed in the same tone. The BRABUS interior design for the G-Class not only refines the look, but also the functionality: The special BRABUS door hinges make it easier to get in and out of the rear because the doors are at a 90-degree angle and thus significantly wider than in the production car let open. The BRABUS 900 SUPERBLACK is available in the version presented here at a recommended retail price of 511.959,42 euros (price including 19 percent VAT in Germany).
