Sporty BRABUS upgrades for the Mercedes C-Class

Standing still means falling behind and so the BRABUS engineers and designers work tirelessly on the development of new individual components for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. BRABUS now also offers sporty, dynamically designed BRABUS aerodynamic components for the sedans and station wagons of the current C-Class, which were ordered ex works with AMG styling. The range of exclusive BRABUS monoblock wheels in various designs ranges from 18 to 20 inches in diameter. The BRABUS sport springs are specially designed for this. Also new to the range are BRABUS performance upgrades for the C 300 4MATIC petrol engine and the C 300d turbo diesel. The interior of all models can be individually refined with attractive BRABUS accessories or a tailor-made BRABUS fine leather interior.

BRABUS upgrades on the C-Class

Mercedes-Benz also offers the C-Class of the W/S 206 model series with an optional AMG Line bodystyling kit. In order to make the sporty line of these body parts even more dynamic, the BRABUS design team developed tailor-made components that are made from high-quality PUR in original equipment quality. The add-on parts not only make both body variants look even sportier: The BRABUS front spoiler corners shaped like flaps, which are attached to the left and right of the front bumper, reduce lift on the front axle at high speeds, which further optimizes driving stability at high speeds.

The even more dynamic look can also be emphasized even more with front inserts for the two side air inlets in the apron. They are equipped with LED location lights that are activated by the keyless go system when approaching the vehicle. The BRABUS rear spoiler, which reduces lift on the rear axle, was developed for the C-Class sedans of the W 206 series. To make the rear view of both body versions sportier, there is a set with four black chrome-plated BRABUS tailpipes with a diameter of 90 millimeters, which are connected to the standard exhaust system. They are integrated into the rear bumper with tailor-made supports.

Monobloc wheels with a diameter of 18, 19 or 20 inches

The monoblock wheels, which can be used on the C-Class in various designs and with a diameter of 18, 19 or 20 inches, also play a key role in the exciting BRABUS look. The two vehicles shown here are equipped with BRABUS Monoblock Z alloy wheels. On the station wagon, the maximum 8.5Jx19 ten-spoke wheels are used all around because of the higher load on the rear axle. The combination of 225/40 ZR 19 and 255/35 ZR 19 was selected for the tyres. 8.5Jx20 wheels all round and tires measuring 225/35 ZR 20 and 255/30 ZR 20 are also permitted for the C-Class sedan. The optimal high-performance tires for all variants are provided by the BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

There are also BRABUS sport springs that have been optimally matched to the standard shock absorbers and lower the C-Class by between 20 and 30 millimeters, depending on the base car. BRABUS offers the world's largest engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. Like all BRABUS components, the performance upgrades for the C-Class come with the unique BRABUS Tuning Guarantee® over 3 years and up to 100.000 kilometers (according to the BRABUS guarantee conditions, as of July 2013). BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL.

Sprint time to 100 km/h in 5,8 seconds

Under the BRABUS PowerXtra B30 label, there is 31 kW / 42 hp more power for the four-cylinder turbo petrol engine in the C 300 4MATIC. They are achieved by a module adapted to the engine electronics using plug-and-play technology with special maps for injection, ignition and boost pressure control. With 221 kW / 300 hp instead of 190 kW / 258 hp and a maximum torque increased from 400 to 450 Nm, the sprint time to 100 km/h is reduced to 5,8 seconds.

The top speed remains electronically limited to 250 km/h. The BRABUS PowerXtra D30 performance kit can also be connected to the CAN bus of the C 300d turbo diesel model from any BRABUS support center in a very short time. Like all BRABUS PowerXtra performance kits, this tuning stage was also designed in such a way that a reduction in mileage due to the increase in performance is reliably prevented.

C 300d to 5,6 km/h in 100 seconds

With this BRABUS tuning, the diesel engine delivers 33 kW / 45 hp more and also increases the torque by 50 Nm. Of course, 228 kW / 310 hp peak power and 600 Nm torque also have a positive effect on the driving performance: With BRABUS engine tuning, the Mercedes C 300d accelerates to 5,6 km/h in just 100 seconds. The standard V/max limit at 250 km/h remains unchanged. Even more important for day-to-day driving, however, is the significantly increased torque across the entire speed range.

The BRABUS range also offers numerous refinement options for the interior of the current Mercedes C-Class: Individual accessories such as aluminum pedals and high-quality velor floor mats and trunk mats with the BRABUS logo are just as much part of the product range as particularly exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior fittings made of particularly soft and breathable leather and Alcantara.

Don't worry, of course that was far from being the case when it came to auto / auto tuning. Our magazine still has tens of thousands other tuning reports in stock. Do you want to see them all?
