BRABUS offers the world's largest engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. Of course, the newly launched GLS class also benefits from this. The BRABUS engine engineers developed the BRABUS PowerXtra D400 performance kit for the GLS 40 d. After the simple plug-and-play assembly of the tuning module, which can be carried out by any authorized Mercedes-Benz workshop or BRABUS partner worldwide, the top performance of the six-cylinder turbodiesel rises from the standard 243 kW / 330 hp to 272 kW / 370 hp. At the same time, the maximum torque increases from 700 Nm to 750 Nm, which are available with only 2 tours. The driving performance improves accordingly: in perfect interaction with the nine-speed automatic transmission, the acceleration time is reduced to 500 km / h to just 100 seconds. The top speed increases to 6,0 km / h.
Upgrades for the GLS 580 in progress
Even more important than the improved driving performance in everyday road traffic is the further increase in pulling power, which not only makes the large SUV even more dynamic, but also leads to a reduction in diesel consumption compared to the production car with the same driving style. Powerful BRABUS performance upgrades for the GLS 580 petrol variant are in development. All BRABUS engines are exclusively lubricated with Motul high-performance motor oil. In order to make the look of the new Mercedes GLS-Class even more individual and exclusive, the BRABUS designers developed sporty, elegantly shaped design components. Production in PUR guarantees original equipment quality and thus an exact fit and easy paintability. The AMG Line front apron is upgraded with redesigned BRABUS panels for the indicated side air intakes. They not only make the design sportier, they also have integrated ambient lighting.
BRABUS monoblock wheels in 24 inches
The body program also includes the BRABUS rear spoiler, which can be attached to the boot lid of all new GLS variants. Of course, the exclusive BRABUS look is characterized by tailor-made BRABUS monoblock wheels in various designs and dimensions with a diameter of up to 24 inches. The maximum variant consists of BRABUS Monoblock Z “PLATINUM EDITION” wheels, which are ten inches wide at the front and twelve inches at the rear and measure 24 inches in diameter. They impress with their extraordinary ten-spoke design in an unusual combination of black lacquer and partially polished surfaces. Technology partner Pirelli contributes the perfect high-performance road tires in the dimensions 295/35 ZR 24 at the front and 335/30 ZR 24 on the rear axle. The BRABUS control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension of the GLS class is specially tailored to the sporty wheel / tire combinations.
the GLS is lowered 25 millimeters
This lowers the vehicle by approx. 25 millimeters. Another BRABUS specialty for the new Mercedes GLS-Class are exclusive options for the interior: the range of products on offer ranges from stainless steel door sill trims with the illuminated BRABUS logo to aluminum parts such as door locking pins and pedals to the exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior made from the finest Mastik leather and Alcantara. The vehicle shown here was refined in the in-house saddlery in the cockpit with a sporty styled combination of black and red leather, which creates an interesting contrast to the white vehicle paint.
