Brabus brings the Porsche 911 Turbo S to 820 hp!

Curtain up for a new high-performance supercar from the house of BRABUS: BRABUS is now also offering an exclusive refinement program for the Porsche 911 Turbo S of the current 992 model series. The engine engineers of the world's largest manufacturer-independent automobile tuner developed two BRABUS performance upgrades and a high-performance exhaust system made of ultra-light INCONEL for the supercharged six-cylinder boxer engine. In the BRABUS PowerXtra P38S-820 top-of-the-line variant, the engine delivers 603 kW / 820 hp and produces a maximum torque of 950 Nm at just 4000 rpm. This means that the sports car needs just 2,5 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standing start. The top speed is electronically limited to 340 km/h. Visually, BRABUS refines the current 911 Turbo, whether coupé or cabriolet, with a newly developed aerodynamics upgrade made of visible carbon and BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" high-tech forged wheels in a combination with 21-inch and 22-inch diameters. The chassis has even more agile handling with height-adjustable BRABUS sport springs. An exclusive BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior gives all 911 models the finishing touch.

With the know-how from 45 years of tuning, the BRABUS engine engineers started developing performance upgrades that were as powerful as they were stable for the current Porsche 911 Turbo S models. Its 3,8 liter six-cylinder biturbo boxer engine offers reserves ex works, which were awakened in the course of extensive tests on stationary and mobile test benches and extensive test drives on the race track and in traffic, without affecting the stability. It goes without saying that all kits are TÜV-tested and come with the exemplary BRABUS Tuning-Garantie® over 3 years and up to 100 kilometers (according to the BRABUS guarantee conditions, as of July 000). Technology partner MOTUL supplies the high-tech lubricants for the entire drive train.

The BRABUS PowerXtra P38S-720 Performance Upgrade gives the supercharged boxer an additional 52 kW / 70 hp. For this purpose, an additional control unit is adapted to the electronic engine management using plug-and-play technology, which updates the engine control with new maps for injection and ignition and increases the boost pressure. This increases peak performance from the standard 478 kW / 650 hp to 530 kW / 720 hp at just 6 rpm. At the same time, the maximum torque increases from 900 to 800 Nm at 900 rpm. The sports car accelerates from 4 – 000 km/h in just 2,6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 0 km/h.

911 Turbo S drivers who want even more performance can have their coupe or cabriolet upgraded with the BRABUS PowerXtra P38S-820 Performance Upgrade. This kit has two special BRABUS high-performance turbochargers. A modified core group with reinforced axial bearings and a larger compressor and turbine unit with a modified VTG adjustment ensure a maximum boost pressure of 2,1 bar.

The electronic engine control has also been adapted to the new hardware. A BRABUS PowerXtra additional control unit is also used here, but its mappings have been specially adapted to the modified charging system. After the conversion, the engine produces even more outstanding performance values: the peak output of 603 kW / 820 hp is achieved at just 6 rpm. Equally impressive is the maximum torque of 900 Nm, which is already available at just 950 rpm.

The installation of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system is recommended for both performance levels and also for every standard 911 Turbo of the current 992 generation. It is made of INCONEL, a particularly heat-resistant yet extremely light alloy that is also used to build the exhaust systems of current Formula 1 racing cars.

with 4-pipe sports exhaust system

Sound and performance are the strengths of this 4-pipe sports exhaust system, which not only reduces exhaust back pressure, but also has flaps for electronically controlled sound management. From the cockpit, the driver can choose between the discreet "Coming Home" mode and the open "Sport" position of the exhaust flaps, which elicit a decidedly powerful engine sound from the boxer engine. Another special development are the two BRABUS BoostXtra valves for the turbo system, which produce an exciting blow-off noise when the load changes.

The BRABUS PowerXtra P38S-820 power plant in the rear gives the 911 Turbo S even better driving performance. In perfect interaction with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and the electronically controlled all-wheel drive, the exclusive two-door car catapults itself to 2,5 km/h in just 100 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 340 km/h to protect the tyres. The reduction in aerodynamic lift is of enormous importance in such a fast car. That's why the BRABUS designers developed body components in the wind tunnel that are as efficient as they are visually exciting, which are made of carbon with either a high-gloss or matt finish.

The BRABUS front spoiler with flaps on the left and right gives the sports car a thoroughbred racing flair. The exciting look is complemented by excellent aerodynamic efficiency: the spoiler reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds, which further optimizes driving stability. The function of the standard center section of the front apron, which can be extended downwards, naturally remains untouched. Tailor-made carbon elements for the large air intakes in the front bumper give the sports car an even more dynamic appearance. The BRABUS flaps, which are attached to the rocker strips in front of the rear wheel arches, optimize the airflow around the rear wheels and give the Porsche an even more spectacular profile when viewed from the side.

BRABUS aerodynamic concept for the 911 Turbo

The BRABUS aerodynamic concept for the 911 Turbo is rounded off at the rear by the visible carbon diffuser with tailor-made cutouts for the four 100 millimeter tailpipes of the BRABUS sports exhaust system. A panel with raised, integrated BRABUS lettering replaces the standard element between the rear lights. This is joined by the new rear wing, whose profile is placed significantly higher above the bonnet than the standard spoiler. The sophisticated design with vertical side plates in the same profile as the other flaps and the raised spoiler lip at the rear end produces more downforce on the rear axle.

The forged Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" wheels with central locking also play a large part in the exciting BRABUS design. With their different diameters on the front and rear axles, they emphasize the wedge shape of the sports car. The design with ten filigree spokes is particularly exclusive thanks to the contrast between the black finish and the polished areas on the surface. 9.5Jx21 rims are used at the front, the wheels at the rear are twelve inches wide and 22 inches high. Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA high-performance tires in sizes 255/30 ZR 21 at the front and 335/25 ZR 22 on the rear axle are mounted on this.

In order to be able to offer the driver of a 911 Turbo S an individual suspension setup, the BRABUS suspension engineers developed new, height-adjustable sport springs. They allow the front and rear axles to be lowered by up to a maximum of 25 millimeters, precisely tailored to the driver's wishes. The active damper adjustment remains unchanged. Lowering the center of gravity not only makes the look even more exciting: the handling also becomes even more direct.

of course also with changes in the cabin

BRABUS MASTERPIECE: The red glazed plaque on the seat backrests documents that the interior of this refined cabriolet comes from the refiner's in-house upholstery shop. Black leather was chosen as a contrast to the gray paintwork, which was contrasted with red piping and decorative stitching and was processed perfectly down to the last corner. Another BRABUS specialty is the quilting of the seat center panels and the cockpit floor in the shape of a shield, which was carried out with maximum precision and further enhanced with equally precise perforation. The trunk can also be finished in the same design. The BRABUS real carbon elements with a choice of high-gloss or matt sealing as well as aluminum components such as the pedals and the footrest with illuminated BRABUS lettering set particularly sporty accents in the cockpit.

In the vehicle shown here, these parts, as well as other elements on the dashboard and center console, were glazed in red to match the interior. Other lovely details of the BRABUS interior styling are the steering wheel with decorative stitching and red 12 o'clock marking, as well as the red leather trim of the Sport Chrono clock on the instrument panel. Door sill trims with illuminated BRABUS logo, which changes from red to white and back, are just as much a part of the wide-ranging portfolio as high-quality floor mats and trunk mats with leather edging. Below we have a video of a Brabus Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe (992) and at the end of the article there is a large gallery of cabriolet and coupe to see.
