A new BRABUS MASTERPIECE: The BRABUS Rocket 900 "ONE OF TEN"

The BRABUS brand has been building high-performance supercars based on Mercedes-Benz automobiles for more than four decades. With the new BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" this tradition is consistently continued under the BRABUS MASTERPIECE label. In the high-end manufacture in Bottrop, a limited edition of just ten vehicles of this model is being produced based on the GT 63 S 4MATIC +. The heart of this BRABUS top-of-the-line automobile is the new BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 biturbo displacement engine, which, thanks to the expansion to 4,5 liters and a newly developed high-performance charging system, achieves a peak output of 662 kW / 900 PS. The maximum torque is 1 Nm, but is limited to 250 Nm in the vehicle. In combination with the SPEEDSHIFT MCT 1-speed sports transmission and all-wheel drive, the four-seat coupé catapults itself from standstill to 050 km / h in just 9 seconds. 2,8 km / h is reached in just 100 seconds.

The top speed is electronically limited to 330 km / h due to the tires. In order to optimally bring the enormous power of the new BRABUS displacement engine onto the road, the BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" is equipped with extremely wide tires in 21 and 22 inch diameters on the front and rear axles, for the special BRABUS Monoblock Z high-tech Forged wheels were produced. To make room for this, the BRABUS designers developed an excitingly styled carbon wide version. In line with this, aerodynamic components were created in the wind tunnel that produce higher downforce and thus increase driving stability at high speeds. With a tailor-made MASTERPIECE interior, BRABUS offers buyers of this supercar the option of designing their vehicle in the cockpit according to their personal wishes. The BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" badge with the serial number of the vehicle on the dashboard documents the noble origins of this supercar, which costs 505.500 euros (price including 16 percent VAT in Germany!).

Basis: Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC +

A new BRABUS MASTERPIECE: The BRABUS Rocket 900 "ONE OF TEN"

The new BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC +, which is powered by a four-liter eight-cylinder with two turbochargers. This engine is the basis for the new BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 biturbo displacement engine. As is well known, displacement can only be replaced by more displacement. Elaborately designed engines with larger displacement have a long and successful tradition at BRABUS. Today, the Bottrop-based company is probably the only tuner that operates this type of performance enhancement, which is very costly and very efficient.

With the enormous know-how from more than four decades of tuning, the BRABUS engine engineers, technicians and electronics engineers developed this new BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 high-tech engine, which is manufactured in the company's own engine building. With state-of-the-art processing technology and the highest precision down to the last detail, the engine is first subjected to a displacement increase to 4,5 liters. This includes a special crankshaft milled from solid and finely balanced with a stroke extended to 100 millimeters, special connecting rods also milled from solid, larger forged pistons and the expansion of the eight cylinder bores to 84 millimeters.

RAM-Air intake system made of carbon left and right

Another special development is the BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 charging system with two special BRABUS high-performance turbochargers. Compared to the standard components, they have a larger compressor unit and a special trunk group with reinforced axial bearings. This increases the maximum boost pressure to 1,4 bar. In order to supply the engine with more breathing air, the BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" has a RAM-Air intake system made of carbon integrated into the radiator grille on the left and right. The engine's fuel supply, which can be visually identified by a special BRABUS engine cover with red carbon fibers, is modified with special high-pressure pumps.

On the exhaust side, a BRABUS stainless steel 4-pipe high-performance exhaust system with pressure-reducing metal catalysts is used, which was specially made for the GT floor pan. The system, made entirely of stainless steel, not only reduces the exhaust back pressure, it also has exhaust flaps for electronically controlled sound management. From the cockpit, the driver can choose between the discreet “coming home” mode and, depending on the selected driving mode, a decidedly powerful eight-cylinder sound.

662 kW / 900 PS is produced at just 6.200 rpm

The electronic engine management has been modified to match the new hardware. For this purpose, new maps for injection, ignition and boost pressure control were programmed in extensive test series on engine test benches, all-wheel drive roller test benches as well as in driving tests on the road and race track. These measures not only serve to achieve optimum performance, but also to meet the strict EURO 6D ISC-FCM emissions standard. The ROCKET 900 V8 displacement engine generates outstanding performance values: the peak output of 662 kW / 900 PS is achieved at just 6.200 rpm. Equally impressive is the maximum torque of 1 Nm, which is available from just 250 trips. This value is electronically limited in the vehicle to 2 Nm in order to protect the power transmission. Even significantly higher values were measured on the test bench. Technology partner MOTUL supplies the high-tech lubricants for the entire drive train of the new BRABUS supercar.

SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed sports transmission

A new BRABUS MASTERPIECE: The BRABUS Rocket 900 "ONE OF TEN"

Power is transmitted via a SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed sports transmission, which can be switched automatically or manually with the BRABUS RACE aluminum shift paddles on the steering wheel, and the 4MATIC + all-wheel drive. The new BRABUS power plant in the bow makes the BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" one of the most powerful four-seater all-wheel-drive coupés in the world. The exclusive four-door catapults itself from a standing start to 2,8 km / h in just 100 seconds. After 9,7 seconds, the supercar is already 200 km / h. The 300 km / h mark is reached after 23,9 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 2 km / h due to the comparatively high vehicle curb weight of 120 kilograms and the tires.

In order to further optimize the excellent traction of the 4MATIC + all-wheel drive system, particularly wide high-performance tires are of great help. For this reason, the BRABUS chassis engineers developed special, extra-large versions of the BRABUS Monoblock Z wheels. In order to achieve an optimal combination of maximum strength and lightweight construction, these ten-spoke rims are produced in a high-tech forging process. In order to accentuate the exclusive look of these wheels with black spokes and red accents even more sportily, the BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" is equipped with aero discs made of exposed carbon.

BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" rims

A new BRABUS MASTERPIECE: The BRABUS Rocket 900 "ONE OF TEN"

BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" 10.5Jx21 wheels with 295/30 ZR 21 P Zero high-performance tires from BRABUS technology partner Pirelli are used on the front axle. At the rear, 335/25 ZR 22 tires on 12Jx22 rims ensure grip and a spectacular look. With the BRABUS AIRMATIC SPORT unit, the four-door coupé is lowered by approx. 25 millimeters in the two driving modes “Comfort” and “Sport”. In order to give the supercar the extravagant BRABUS Bold Look, the BRABUS designers developed the excitingly styled BRABUS ROCKET 900 wide version for the four-door coupé. The components are made of high-strength but light carbon. At the front there are new, wider fenders with integrated, curved fender flares. On the rear axle, carbon fiber extensions make the GT 7,8 centimeters wider. Of course, this conversion also includes tailor-made inner fenders made of Kevlar.

Carbon, carbon, carbon on the "ONE OF TEN"

A new BRABUS MASTERPIECE: The BRABUS Rocket 900 "ONE OF TEN"

Aerodynamics play an elementary role in the speed ranges that the new BRABUS supercar can reach within a very short time. That is why the ROCKET front apron made of carbon was developed, which not only offers a perfect connection to the wider front carbon fenders: The large air inlets supply the engine and the front brakes with fresh air. The air inlets integrated in the radiator grille are part of the RAM-Air intake system. The spoiler integrated into the front section was shaped in such a way that it further reduces lift on the front axle. In order to achieve an optimal aerodynamic balance, the BRABUS design team developed a multi-part carbon rear wing and a rear diffuser made of the same high-tech compound for the BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN" in the wind tunnel. Exposed carbon covers on the sides of the rear bumper are just as much a part of the sporty accents on the body as the carbon covers for the side mirrors.

exclusive leather interior with pointed contrasts

A new BRABUS MASTERPIECE: The BRABUS Rocket 900 "ONE OF TEN"

For the “01” of the “ONE OF TEN” Limited Edition shown in the attached photos, a special “Stealth Gray” paintwork was chosen. In addition, all chrome parts were painted in body color. The same color can also be found in the MASTERPIECE interior of the BRABUS ROCKET 900 "ONE OF TEN", which is tailored to the wishes of the future owner by experienced master upholsterers in the BRABUS factory in Bottrop. The BRABUS MASTERPIECE badge on the backrests documents the noble origin of this cockpit. With this exclusive leather upholstery, gray seams and piping set sharp contrasts to the fine, royal-black leather and Alcantara. Gray decorative seams also demonstrate the great attention to detail in this BRABUS MASTERPIECE equipment. The seats and inner parts of the door panels are not only provided with a "crest" coat of arms stitched down to the millimeter. Just as precisely, the leather was perforated in selected areas and given a gray background. The floor protectors and the trunk mat have the same design.

215 parts coated to match the vehicle color

In the BRABUS Supercar shown here, exactly 215 parts in the cockpit, from switches to panels, were coated to match the vehicle color. High-gloss, sealed carbon elements also add sporty highlights to the interior. Stainless steel door sill trims with illuminated BRABUS logo, which changes color to match the ambient lighting in the interior, round off the elegant interior design. BRABUS door pins and pedals made of aluminum give the cockpit a decidedly sporty note. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
