Brabus tuning on the old Mercedes MB 100 D? There was!

The Mercedes-Benz MB 100 (also known as Ssangyong or Daewoo Istana in Korea and Vietnam) was the competition for the VW Bulli and known by the nickname "Kutter". And the MB 100 got it right. Because the factory-installed four-cylinder diesel with a tired 72 HP, known as “unbreakable”, and the buttery-soft chassis conveyed more the feeling of swimming than of driving. But over 30 years ago, the tuner Brabus got the MB 100, with the DIN-standard angular headlights and the view of a dachshund whose bones were stolen Tuning cure subjected. The best-known Mercedes tuner worldwide has been in business for over 40 years and what there is today in a V-Class and a Sprinter was there over 30 years ago on MB 100 and also on the big brother, the MB 207. We're talking about Tuning!

However, the Mercedes MB 100 D was built much less than current Brabus vans. The tuning program for the "Kutter" final result of the 80cc and middle of 90er-year and nowadays the Brabus MB 100 D is so rare that even Brabus itself hardly has any information on the number of units or the prices at the time. While the practical loadmaster was only built in this country from 1988 to 1995, the light commercial vehicle was even longer outside Germany. It was available in different versions, such as a bus, a panel van, a station wagon and a flatbed. But only with one engine. With the 2,4-liter in-line four-cylinder diesel engine (OM 616) 72 PS. Then later the engine "strengthened" 75 PS.

However, Brabus had the extra power no Proportion of. They only focused on the optics. The Bottrop-based Mercedes specialist built chic on the van Alloy wheels in the then hip Turbine optics, there was a sporty one Front apron attachment with integrated fog lights and even Double pipe sidepipes one had come up with. And because the van was equipped with a kind of wedge chassis ex works, Brabus even installed one on the rear axle Lowering. Unfortunately, there is almost no reliable information on the tuning program for the MB 100 D and not even for the MB 207. If you look around on the Internet, you can see almost only one vehicle of the MB 100 D in the color "Ink Yellow", that there is sometimes with and sometimes without a front apron attachment. The angular MB 100 D is definitely one of the rarest Brabus conversions ever. If we get more information, there will of course be an update for this report.
