The first electric car in the world with increased performance meets a high performance sport boat of the special class. And both come from the same house: BRABUS! Almost as "Tender to", as a dinghy to the exclusive BRABUS 500 "Shadow OPS" limited edition "1 of 28" sport boat, the extravagant BRABUS Ultimate E Shadow Edition "2019 of 1" celebrates its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 28. BRABUS Marine has been cooperating with the Finnish high-performance boat manufacturer Axopar since 2016 and presented its second own boat at the beginning of the year, which is sold in a limited edition by 28 copies. The agile urban sports car for this boat is based on the smart EQ fortwo cabrio and is the first vehicle of its genre with engine tuning due to its 68 kW / 92 PS performance-enhanced electric drive with four different driving modes. This accelerates the noble two-seater in only 10,9 seconds of 0 - 100 km / h.
The top speed is 130 km / h. The dynamic agility of the "BRABUS Pocket Rocket" is complemented by an excitingly designed wide version with 18 inch forged wheels and a luxurious BRABUS fine leather interior. The know-how of BRABUS ZERO EMISSION was used for the construction of the BRABUS Ultimate E Shadow Edition "1 of 28" special model. This division of the BRABUS Group has been dealing with alternative drives since the year 2008. For more than four decades, BRABUS has been one of the top addresses worldwide for exclusive high-performance automobiles. With the BRABUS ZERO EMISSION division, the automobile manufacturer, recognized by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, is developing vehicle concepts for cars with alternative drive systems.
BRABUS Ultimate E Shadow Edition
BRABUS Marine is another division of the Bottroper company that deals with the construction and refining of boats and ships. With the BRABUS Ultimate E Shadow Edition "1 of 28" city sports car, these two teams combined their know-how into a "dinghy" for the new sport boat presented by BRABUS Marine at the beginning of the year: The BRABUS 500 "Shadow OPS" Limited Edition "1 of 28 "outboard with two 368 kW / 500 PS outboards faster than 50 nodes (92,6 km / h). The compact, 28 foot long boat is one of the most dynamic representatives of its guild and is supplied by BRABUS Marine with an exclusive equipment. In order to be able to move agile on land as well, BRABUS developed a "Tender to", a "dinghy" for the city, which is not only equally agile, but also has many parallels to its counterpart on the water.

So the two-seater, which celebrates its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2019, is painted in the same Gunmetal Gray and provided with the same combination of red leather and Silvertex fabric in the cockpit as the BRABUS 500 "Shadow OPS" Limited Edition "1 of 28 ". Instead of two eight-cylinder petrol engines like the boat, however, the city runabout relies on electric drive: the smart fortwo EQ convertible of the current generation, for example, serves as the base car, which is powered by a three-phase synchronous motor in the rear. The power transmission to the rear wheels via a single-step transmission. BRABUS stands for high performance and of course the development engineers were not satisfied with the standard performance of 60 kW / 82 PS.

So they were the first company in the world to increase the performance of an electric car. The BRABUS PowerXtra Performance Upgrade includes a newly programmed torque control, special modules for driving dynamics switch and accelerator pedal as well as a special gateway. Through these measures, the reserves can be aroused and used, which are present in this electric drive. The "driving fun" switch in the cockpit allows the driver to choose between four different driving modes. In stage 1, the electric motor responds as in any standard smart EQ fortwo. In the "Eco" setting, the recuperation is enhanced and the two-seater brakes, if you go from the gas, much stronger than in the series. Level 3 stands for "sport". The accelerator pedal responds more spontaneously and the recuperation is taken back to standard level. If the driver selects "Sport +", then there is an increased 68 kW / 92 horsepower peak power available and the maximum torque increases 180 Nm, proud 20 Nm more than in the series.
Again, the response of the accelerator pedal is more direct while the recuperation remains at the standard level. In "Sport +" mode the BRABUS two-seater accelerates from 10,9 - 0 km / h in just 100 seconds. The top speed remains limited to 130 km / h. Of course, the exclusive city sports car remains environmentally friendly, despite its higher performance, because CO2-neutral. Depending on the driving style, the BRABUS Ultimate E Shadow Edition "1 of 28" achieves a range of up to 125 kilometers with one battery charge. But the "Tender to" city sports car not only impresses with its environmentally friendly and at the same time fascinatingly dynamic drive: The design of the city sports car stands out from the crowd! The two-seater is not only an eyecatcher par excellence with its special paint in Gunmetal Gray, but also with its exciting WIDESTAR body, which is reserved exclusively for the vehicles of the limited edition BRABUS Ultimate special series.
BRABUS Monoblock Y wheels
The sporty-dynamically designed Breitversion has widenings at front and rear axle. They make room for 18 inch wheels with low profile tires, which are extremely unusual for an electric car of this size. Custom-made for the current BRABUS Ultimate Supercars based on the current smart generation, high-tech forging technology produces particularly light BRABUS Monoblock Y forged wheels. With just 6,7 kilograms of front weight and 7,1 kilograms for the rear, the BRABUS Monoblock Y wheels are among the world's lightest 18 inch wheels on the market. The lightweight design of the filigree design is enhanced by nine spokes polished on their surfaces, which terminate at the outer edge of the wheel in the shape of a "Y". Thanks to the wide version, front 7Jx18 wheels with 205 / 35 R 18 high-performance tires can be driven.
235 / 30 R 18 tires on eight-inch-wide wheels on the rear axle ensure optimum traction and agile handling. Specially designed for the weight of the electric car, the ultra-flat tires and the wider track became the BRABUS chassis. It combines sporty and safe driving characteristics with the desired ride comfort. Of course, the wide version is not only the wider fenders, but also has developed in the wind tunnel aerodynamic components such as front spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser. Also in the cockpit, the BRABUS Ultimate E Shadow Edition "1 of 28" is a prime example of an outstanding combination of fascinating design, masterful workmanship and careful choice of materials. In the in-house saddlery, the BRABUS fine leather interior was created in a combination of extremely soft and breathable BRABUS mastic leather and Silvertex fabric for the seats.
Interior with leather and plenty of carbon
The red corresponds exactly to the color, as it also decorates the seats and the lying surface of the boat. Not only the seats, the interior parts of the two door panels and the steering wheel rim are upholstered in this color, but also the instrument panel. One of the lovingly crafted details of this exclusive full leather interior is the millimeter-accurate square stitching of the seats. As a decidedly sporty contrast, the BRABUS interior designers created visual carbon components for the trim that surrounds the instrument cluster, the ventilation rings and the charging indicator and clock instrument on the left side of the dashboard. The BRABUS aluminum pedals, gearshift knob and handbrake lever made of aluminum add another touch of racing look to the cockpit. In addition, this electric supercar has bespoke door sills with illuminated BRABUS logo, which also changes from white to red as the emblem in the stainless steel footrest in the driver's footwell.
High quality black leather floor covers with square stitching and red BRABUS logo complete the noble ambience. Of course, the BRABUS Ultimate E Shadow Edition "1 of 28" has as well-known comfort features as air conditioning, sound and navigation system.
