A passionate Bugatti collector presents his personal vision in Molsheim: the creation of a truly unique, tailor-made Chiron as the embodiment of the purest luxury. The result: the 'Chiron habillé par Hermès', a hyper sports car inspired by the finest craftsmanship that is second to none.
Bugatti Chiron habillé par Hermès
For every Bugatti connoisseur, it is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to have a handcrafted hyper sports car from the studio in Molsheim in their own garage. For some, however, that is not enough; there are already several Bugatti models in their collection. So they go even further in their devotion to the legendary French brand by asking them to implement their visions for their own, personalized version of the hyper sports car - referring to Bugatti's glorious past as a coachbuilder for such beauties as the Type 57, for which the extensive selection of customization options was already one of the most important unique selling points.
a one-off for Manny Khoshbin
The Chiron habillé par Hermès', created for the American entrepreneur and real estate investor Manny Khoshbin, revives the partnership between the two French brands, whose owners Ettore Bugatti and Émile-Maurice Hermès laid the foundation for a new form of luxury for which France continues to this day stands. The result made a dream come true.
“I'm an absolute Bugatti fan - I wanted to call my son 'Ettore', but my wife was against it,” explains Manny Khoshbin. “When I first saw the Chiron1 in 2015, I reserved one of the first production slots for myself. In terms of delivery, I'm probably one of the last, but that was up to me. ”Because it was Khoshbin's vision and his passion for the Bugatti brand that inspired others to break new ground in customizing automobiles.
After years of close and creative collaboration, Khoshbin was able to receive his own unique 'Chiron habillé par Hermès'. For the design of this elegant and distinctive Chiron, the French luxury brand Hermès was brought on board in order to optimally implement the individual look sought by Manny Khoshbin with the applications of colors, fabrics and finishes that are characteristic of Hermès. The result is a unique Chiron that will stand out forever and is another example of what Bugatti makes possible for its customers.
Tailor-made details at all levels
If you take a closer look at the 'Chiron habillé par Hermès', it immediately becomes clear that it is something special in almost every respect. The exterior, the design of the interior, the unique details: the teams in Molsheim and Paris worked with great dedication on the implementation in order to make the customer-specific requirements come true.
The color scheme of this extraordinary Chiron is kept in the chalk-colored leather shade 'Craie', which has become famous for handbags and other luxury items from Hermès. While most Chiron models consist of two main colors in order to achieve a better contrast, the body of this Chiron shines completely in the same chalk-white colors.
The rear bumper, all grille covers, trim parts and the Bugatti 'Classique' alloy wheels were also kept in the 'Craie' tone of the exterior finish. The 'Chiron habillé par Hermès' also impresses with specific design features such as the unmistakable H monogram of the Parisian brand in the horseshoe radiator grille and the 'Courbettes' motif on the underside of the rear wing. The 'Courbettes' design, made of the contours of rearing horses, was selected by Manny Khoshbin to depict the formidable output of 1.500 horsepower of Bugatti's legendary W16 engine.
Khoshbin also opted for the optional 'Sky View' glass roof with two glass inserts over the driver and front passenger seats. The only parts of the exterior that are not in the 'Craie' color are the engine cover, the brake calipers in 'Italian Red' and the door sills made of polished aluminum.
In the interior of the 'Chiron habillé par Hermès', individualization is once again raised to a whole new level. Almost all of the materials used in the interior come from Hermès. The 'Craie' color is taken up again in the leather of the seats, on the center console, the C-line, on the roof and on the rear wall as well as around the door handles. The 'ecru' leather specially developed by Bugatti and used in the area of the dashboard, air conditioning and the center console is color-coordinated with the 'Craie' tone, as is the 'beige' carpets. The Bugatti materials meet strict quality specifications, which are combined with extensive safety tests.
The 'Courbettes' design by Hermès is also taken up in the interior of the Chiron, namely on the panel and the shelf of the center console as well as on the door panels.
An intensive implementation process
Manny Khoshbin was closely integrated into the implementation process from the reservation of the production slot to the delivery of this incomparable hyper sports car. This involvement was at his own request: after all, Khoshbin is a passionate Bugatti enthusiast and collector. For this Chiron, I traveled to Hermès in Paris twice, once to discuss the design and interior and the second time to assess the progress. Hundreds of emails were exchanged between the teams at Hermès, Bugatti and myself. I took a lot of time designing the Chiron, and it was a very conscious decision to make it that way. This is a car that I will one day bequeath my son. It will last for generations. "
“I am really very grateful to the Bugatti and Hermès teams for making it possible. They were immediately open to my idea of creating something special. I now have three modern Bugatti models in my collection, and a fourth will be added soon. Currently it is the Hermès Chiron and two Veyrons, one of which is a Grand Sport Vitesse "Les Légends de Bugatti" Rembrandt Bugatti. I love to just look at them, they are so beautiful. " The Rembrandt Bugatti is one of three Vitesse in this unique configuration with an extremely rare, brown carbon fiber finish. “And the Bugatti Baby II will soon be delivered for my son,” continues Khoshbin. “He's crazy about Bugatti: every time he hears the name, he gets really excited! I like the 'Chiron habillé par Hermès' best, I drive it almost every day. It's a car that is absolutely made for driving - I'm thrilled every time I get behind the wheel. "
This project between Hermès design and the handcrafted Bugatti automobiles is not the first time the two French luxury brands have collaborated. Before the First World War, Ettore Bugatti had ordered saddles and leather bridles from Émile-Maurice Hermès, the grandson of the company's founder Thierry Hermès. In the 1920s, the brand's leather work also appeared in Bugatti's racing cars. In 2008, Bugatti revived this traditional partnership with the 'Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès', combining the unique technical performance of Bugatti with the expertise and craftsmanship of Hermès.
