Bugatti Chiron L'Ébé – Bugatti honors Ettore's daughter with a special edition

She was very close to him, his soul mate. L'Ébé Bugatti, Ettore Bugatti's daughter and eldest child. Bugatti is now honoring L'Ébé with a very special small series of three vehicles. For the final delivery of the Chiron1 and Chiron Sport2 in Europe, Bugatti's designers developed a Chiron and two Chiron Sport with the name L'Ébé. All three handcrafted hyper sports cars are given unique Art Deco details.

Bugatti Chiron L'Ebé

As the eldest child of Ettore and Barbara Bugatti, L'Ébé, born in 1903, had deeper insights into the history of the brand than anyone else. Ettore hid his initials "EB" in her first name, so that even after marriage, L'Ébé would not have to give up the surname. In her later book The Story of Bugatti, a biography of her famous father, she gave detailed insights into the history of the company and her father.

Now L'Ébé itself becomes part of Bugatti history. Her love of Art Deco style is reflected in three vehicles. The characterful lines of the Chiron are largely based on the Bugatti Type 57 G Tank, which won Le Mans in 1937. On the Chiron L'Ébé, these lines are accentuated in gold and shimmer on the blue-tinted carbon body. Other gold-colored accents adorn the EB badge, horseshoe grille and parts of the cover of the 8,0-litre W16 engine. Even the rims are kept in a subtle gold tone.

Visible blue tinted carbon

The stylish L'Ébé logo is hidden on the underside of the variable rear spoiler and on the door sills. It is sewn into the headrests of the seats by hand. The interior subtly mirrors the exterior: visible blue-tinted carbon in a chiaroscuro contrast alludes to the L'Ébé's dark blue body and gold elements. Bugatti mainly uses “Silk” leather with “Lake Blue” highlights for the interior door panels on the driver's side, while Bugatti reverses the color scheme on the passenger side. Both door panels show a motif of the evolution of iconic Bugatti vehicles, from the early Grand Prix racing cars to the EB 110, Veyron and Chiron. With the numerous elegant and high-quality details of the L'Ébé, Bugatti shows its limitless creativity and craftsmanship when it comes to exclusive custom-made products.

"It helps us a lot to understand Ettore's personality, his goals and the appreciation for him and his products at the time. With this knowledge, we were able to transfer the Bugatti DNA, the essentials of the brand, the high demand for perfection and quality standards into the present. With this special configuration and the use of her name for the last three Chiron and Chiron Sport models, we want to honor L'Ébé and give her the place in our brand history that she deserves.”

8,0-liter engine W16

Bugatti presented the Chiron in 2016. The first production vehicle with an initial output of 1.500 hp created a completely new segment for hyper sports cars. Its 8,0 liter W16 engine, advanced all-wheel drive system and intelligent chassis not only set new standards for acceleration, top speed and handling, but also for comfort, ease of use and reliability. Since then, the Chiron has served as the template for a number of different derivatives, including the Chiron Sport, Chiron Pur Sport and Chiron Super Sport. Chiron and Chiron Sport are phased out with the three exclusive L'Ébé models for Europe. A Chiron L'Ébé and a Chiron Sport L'Ébé have already been delivered, and the third copy will be delivered before the end of the month.
