Have you ever heard of an articulated limousine over 30 meters long based on a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado? According to the Guinness Book of Records, this part is officially the longest car in the world and measures exactly 30,5 meters. The road cruiser was manufactured in the 90s by the US car collector and customizer Jay Ohrberg and appropriately named "The American Dream" Mistake. At that time, the monster with two motors and 26 wheels was put on the road and a joint was built in the middle, as we know it from a city bus. And two people always had to drive the Eldorado. A second person had to steer the rear axle in front of the driver. But the equipment was much more important. The vehicle had a helipad at the very back and its own whirlpool right in front of it. There was also a small putting green for golfers and there was even a king-size waterbed.
a lot of work and a lot of money is needed
By 2014, the Caddy was messing around. But with the purchase of the Autoseum (Museum on Long Island near New York) there was a first movement in the Eldorado project. The badly run-down vehicle was sold by the temporary owner Mike Mannin to the museum director Mike Dezer from the Auto Museum Dezerland Park in Orlando (Florida) and has been revamped since 2019. Many completely rusty parts have been replaced with parts from other Eldorados and the basic restoration is currently complete. It is planned to be completed in spring 2021 and then the vehicle will have a place in the Dezerland Park. Have fun watching the pictures and videos and stay true to us!
