We have to show you this conversion project that Shawn from AutotopiaLA recently presented on YouTube. It is the custom car project by Roger Lee and Ironworks Speed and Kustom from Bakersfield (California/USA) and is based on a 1935 Chevrolet Hot Rod, which took a good five years, more than 10.000 hours of work and an incredible 1 million dollars to complete. According to Roger, the project started with two old 1935 Chevys bought in Arkansas. The vehicles were in good condition, but in principle they were, of course, wooden constructions with sheet metal nailed to the wood, as was customary at the time. So to a certain extent a rolling tool shed. At the current time, the 1935 Chevy Hot Rod is still a work in progress and therefore still unpainted. But it should be ready for the Grand National Roadster Show in 2024.

According to the video, the most complicated part of the project was this sectioning, which made extremely extensive changes to the body necessary. The result of the efforts ensures that the silhouette of the car is narrower at the front than at the back, meaning that more of the front than the rear has been removed. This is of course particularly complicated! As already mentioned, the structure was made of wood. Of course, that was completely removed. And under the hood? It's powered by a small block Chevy engine mated to a TKX 5-speed gearbox. It's best to see the rest for yourself.
