As is well known, the first C8s were available with an optional high-wing rear spoiler. For a component ex works, this was quite large and gave the mid-engine Vette an aggressive look. But the high-wing spoiler was recently taken out of the range due to "too high" demand. The supplier was simply overwhelmed by the high demand. No matter ... Owners of a C8 Corvette can now fall back on an alternative to be able to install a very similar spoiler. A carbon component from ACS Composite as a similar replica of the high-wing spoiler ex works. According to ACS Composite, this rear wing is just as effective as the part from the factory.

It also directs the airflow downwards and exerts pressure on the rear and the wheels of the C8. The result is more downforce and grip. Unfortunately, less top speed too. The ACS wing is installed on the existing OEM holes so that no holes are required for the installation. At least not if the C8 was delivered with the OEM spoiler and this is to be replaced. If a copy was ordered without the rear wing, corresponding holes must of course be drilled. ACS Composite also offers the grand piano in various C8 Corvette factory colors. These include Carbon Flash Black, Gloss Black, Torch Red, Arctic White and Shadow Gray Metallic. The ACS composite spoiler costs $ 1.199 plus tax and shipping.

Maybe soon available from the factory again?

And there is still hope for those who absolutely want to install the OEM component. Allegedly, GM is working with the supplier to restart production and increase the capacity of the high wing spoiler. As is well known, the high wing spoiler is not the only option available from the factory for the C8 Corvette. The $ 4.850 carbon aerodynamics package is also "actually“Available. But here, too, the demand was so great that it has currently been removed from the range and currently only on the optically almost identical SpeedKore carbon body kit can fall back. And in contrast to the rear wing, it is currently not clear with regard to the complete kit whether it will even be restarted in production.
