The Ford Mustang, which was launched in 1966 for the 1967 model year, was only equipped with a measly six-cylinder in series as standard. At the end of production of the first generation, the Chevrolet COPO ZL1 with 7,0 liters achieved an output of 430 hp and was vastly superior to the Mustang. And the Camaro from the video is even stronger. Because under the bonnet with power dome there is not only a polished inlet and aluminum heads, but also a huge 8,2-liter crate engine with Edelbrock four-cylinder carburetor. The Restomod Chevy thus makes 508 hp and 786 Nm of torque.
Four-speed automatic in the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro
The engine is coupled to a four-speed automatic with a 3,89 ratio, there was a 9,0 inch (approx. 23 cm) rear axle and 19 inch Intro-Aurora rims with a chrome-plated surface rotate in the wheel arches. The Chevy stands on a TCI chassis, has an IFS front suspension, a torque arm rear suspension and stately disc brakes from Wilwood all around. A modern rack and pinion steering is used for steering and a lot has happened visually as well. The body is very clean (no marker lights or moldings) and has a '68 grille, a Stinger-style hood, dual-mode headlights and polished aprons, and of course the chic paintwork in Checkered Red.
