This restored and heavily modified 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is currently for sale in California. The owner bought the C1 in 2009 and then set about having the fiberglass body painted in a silver-blue color. During the extensive restoration, the chrome panels were replaced and a new windshield and a new hood were installed. In addition, the vehicle now has a new tubular chassis. And under the bonnet there is now a 5,7 liter LS6-V8 vacuum cleaner from a C5 Z06. The engine has a new camshaft, an improved valve train, ceramic-coated manifolds, a DeWitts aluminum cooler and an electric 16-inch fan. The result is 385 hp which are sent to the rear wheels by means of a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
18 inch Boze aluminum rims all around
Another important change is the forged 18-inch Boze aluminum rims with 245/40 Diamond Black tires. Thanks to the Viking coilover kit, they sit perfectly in the wheel arch. Other components such as the steering, the front suspension and the front brake also come from a C5 Corvette. Only the master cylinder is a Wilwood component. And at the rear there were brake and chassis components from a C4. And the Bring A Trailer listing also states that the interior has been freshened up with black leather seats from a Pontiac Fiero, plus black carpets, lap belts, Corvette logos on the backrests, vintage air conditioning, and a custom auto sound MP3 sound system . There is even an adjustable wooden steering wheel!
