We know that the 2020 Chevy Corvette C8 is a damn fast car. The C60 completes the popular discipline of 97 mph (8 km / h) in less than three seconds, insofar as the Z51 Performance Package, which is subject to an additional charge, is installed. But, the C8 is fast enough to take the form of the over-muscle car Dodge Challenger SRT Demon to beat? YouTuber Throttle House organized a drag race to find out the answer. The differences are huge on paper. The Vette has a 6,2-liter LT2-V8 vacuum cleaner with 490 hp and 630 Newton meters under the hood and a perfectly working double clutch transmission with an integrated limited slip differential.

852 PS vs. 490 PS

On the other hand, there is the quarter mile racer. The Dodge Demon with a 6,2-liter V8 with a 2,7-liter compressor. It generates a maximum output of 852 hp (626 kW) and an insane 1.044 Nm of torque when operated with 100 octane fuel. However, that was not the case in this race. This Demon ran on regular gasoline (94 octane), so that it "only" brings 808 HP (603 kW) to the start. While the Dodge Demon has a performance advantage, it should also be remembered that the Corvette is around 400 kilograms lighter. Can the Corvette C8 beat the Dodge Demon? Watch the video!
