A Cadillac V12 homage based on the Corvette C8?

A long time ago (2002) the American brand Cadillac introduced some wild concept cars, including a Cadillac V12 super sports mid-engined coupe with a name Cien and 750 hp Northstar XV12 engine under the sheet metal. And now one of the visions of that time could actually become reality as a super sports car with a V12 mid-engine. Not from Cadillac itself, though. Because they'll be fine with the CT5-V Blackwing put the last true performance vehicle from Cadillac on the road. Instead, the US company would like Competition carbon build a tribute to celebrate Cadillac's 120th birthday next year. This time the idea is called a C120R designated. This time? I agree! Because Competition Carbon had already last year with the "C8RR Roadster / Spyder body kit“A similar idea. Here, too, the mid-engine platform of the C8 Corvette was planned as the base vehicle.

The basis is the Corvette C8

The rest of the Cadillac V12 super sports car is to be built in-house. However, not as is often the case with an expensive carbon-carbon fiber dress, instead Competition wants carbon SLA resin that is created in a 3D printer, among other things, and is relatively easy to manufacture.

And the virtual images show that the Cadillac V12 Homage looks just as you would expect from a super sports car. In the front you plan vertically running ones LED strips, lots of rough edges and the front reminds us a bit of that Devel sixteen. The back of the virtual prototype is particularly aggressive and has a Exhaust System with four tailpipes, one active rear wing and of course a massive one diffuser. There is also an air scoop on the roof and there are generally various aerodynamic ones here and there Design elements. To what extent they are all functional is not yet known. The options planned with regard to the engine are a little more specific. It should be two engine options type, one in each case V12 should be.

V12 from Mercedes, BMW or Aston Martin?

Where the V12 should come from, however, that is so far not clear. GM has at least no V12 on the shelf. Many manufacturers are also out of the question. But a Bentley engine (W engine), one from Aston Martin or from BMW are conceivable. Manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari and Pagani also have V12 engines in their range. And when it comes to the further engine, you keep a low profile. Both the 6.2 liter V8 as well as the 5,5-liter twin-turbo V8 (Z06, ZR1 or ZORA) the C8 could be an excellent option. the C120R by the way, should already be on the SEMA Motor Show 2023 will be presented for the first time in Las Vegas. By the way, we can already say one thing now, but he will probably not come to Germany, which has meanwhile declined as a car hater. Pity!
