Pirate ship? Single piece - Carlex Design MINI Countryman

The absolute hammer! This MINI Countryman has devoured over 9 months of working hours of the Polish tuner Carlex Design and every second was worth it. The company yesterday presented the spectacular Steampunk MINI Countryman one-of-a-kind on its website, and of course we can not hide it from you. But what does actually mean Steampunk? Steampunk is derived from the English steam = "steam" and am. punk = "lousy", "worthless", makes "punk" independent! It is a phenomenon that first appeared as a literary movement in the 80s. It developed into an art genre as well as a cultural movement. On the one hand, modern and futuristic technical functions are combined with the means and materials of the Victorian era. As a result, the technology has a retro look. Steampunk can be used to describe retro-futurism, a kind of view of the future as it might have arisen in earlier times. So much for that, and now back to the mini!

We would like to start with the completely refined interior. Here they have outdone themselves and given the Countryman the style of a pirate ship. An unsurpassed and absolutely unique highlight is the idea of adding a skeleton clock to the steering wheel and the front seats. Skeleton watch means that you can see the mechanics of the watch and watch every tiny gear as it does its job to move the hands. Especially the two views of the clocks that are embedded in the front seats look spectacular. Apparently they have been placed behind a glass plate which we have never seen in this way. Even the idea is absolutely phenomenal, but then to implement it shows the highest quality and ability. And the rest of the interior is absolutely amazing too.

Different shades of brown as well as materials made of smooth leather, Alcantara, fur and wood were used. Everything in the interior is provided with fine and coarse seams that are subtly contrasted in color. Whether dashboard, ABC pillars, headliner, gear knob or center armrest, everything was meticulously handcrafted with the finest leather. In addition, the ventilation slots, some of the steering wheel, or all of the displays were provided with copper foil and this style is even continued on the outside. Another highlight is the fact that parts of the steering wheel, the floor mats, the handbrake lever, the back shells of the rear seats or the rear center armrest are made of high-gloss lacquered real wood. The rear center armrest also has a porthole that allows a view into the center armrest. Unfortunately, the current pictures do not show exactly what you can see in them, we hope to be able to provide you with new pictures soon.

And also the trunk was completely finished and with a high probability this will probably never have to carry luggage. On the side everything was covered with fur and in addition, there is a new sound system which is integrated into the boot floor. Again, much leather is used and also real copper and a glass plate for the view into the ground are available. No less spectacular is the outside! The Mini got a widebody kit that consists of fender flares all around, a matching spoiler lip, side skirts and a matching finish for the rear bumper. In addition, the entire body was foiled in metallic gray-matt and sold everything with lots of copper. Copper colors are the air intakes in the bumper, parts of the radiator grille, the gills in the fenders, the door handles or the strips at the height of the panes.

Spectacular is the fact that the roof, as well as the roof spoiler, modeled after real copper and has placed on the original components. Theoretically, one would have achieved this effect by simply wrapping the roof or the spoiler accordingly, but this did not seem to meet the high standards. The visual appearance is rounded off with copper-colored BBS alloy wheels that harmonize perfectly with the overall project with their retro style. Carlex Design has definitely outdone itself with this vehicle and more attention to detail and a more perfect processing is in our eyes neither conceivable nor feasible. Of course, if we still get detailed information about the modifications, there will be an update for this report as usual. Please keep in mind that we did not receive any information from Carlex Design but derived everything from the pictures. We apologize for any mistakes!
