The new Caterham Seven 340 for Europe and Japan!

Placed in the middle of the Caterham Seven product line, the new 340 replaces the hugely popular 275, proving once again that Caterham knows how to combine a pure driving experience with breathtaking performance. We would now like to introduce this new vehicle to you. S Pack vs R Pack! There are two different versions of the new Caterham Seven 340, each with a different character. The roadworthy 340 S (S Pack), which is trimmed a little more for comfort, can also easily be used as a sports car suitable for everyday use in summer. With tiny 14-inch wheels, a roadworthy chassis tuning, a windshield suitable for everyday use and black leather seats, it proves that it is not only suitable as a fair-weather vehicle for Sunday trips, but can also be moved almost without any problems in everyday life.

even tighter: the R Pack

Those who like it wilder can take the model as an R Pack, which is more attuned to circuit courses and has been equipped, for example, with sports suspension, a carbon fiber dashboard, 15-inch alloy wheels or a small wind deflector on the hood. For taller drivers there is also the option of lowering the floor of the interior further and there is also the option of ordering the car in two different lengths and different seating configurations.

The ability to choose the Signature Edition grants the ability to choose a specific trim configuration, allowing the Caterham to be customized. There is hardly a wish that cannot be fulfilled by Caterham, as each vehicle is handcrafted in Great Britain. Due to current regulations, however, the Caterham is only available as a finished vehicle and no more than Kit car kit.

2-liter Duratec petrol engine from Ford provides propulsion!

Compared to the Caterham Seven 275, the new 340 has at least 25 percent more power and generates a maximum of 170 hp. The maximum torque is 174 Newton meters and the top speed is a whopping 209 kilometers per hour. Combined with the low vehicle weight of only around 500 kg, the driving performance should be at the level of a super sports car. Incidentally, it is switched via a standard five-speed gearbox and only the rear wheels are driven.

Our conclusion: With prices starting at €45.700 for the S version, the Caterham also appeals to car fans who don't necessarily have a six-figure sum to spend on a track tool or recreational vehicle. However, the vehicle is designed too uncompromisingly to be suitable as a first car, which is why interested parties should ideally have another car.
