This completely restored Chevrolet C10 pickup from the tuner Level 7 motorsport is a vice for them Racetrack. When General Motors presented the Chevrolet C10 for the first time, the target group was definitely different. Chevy engineers probably never thought that the C10 would try to hunt for seconds as a performance vehicle at some point. After all, the time when this C10 was built by the tuner Level 7 was firmly in the hands of Corvette C2 Split Window, Porsche 917, Maserati Birdcage or the Ferrari 512M. But the owner of Level 7 (Jesse Vaughn) proves with his truck on the YouTube channel 'United by Trucks' that a C10 can also be active on the racetrack. The Youtuber recently visited the Level 7 Motorsport store in Marion, Illinois to see the bespoke C10.

The vehicle is owned by the Level 7 shopkeeper and the pickup stands on a series chassis that is equipped with RideTech independent front suspension, four-link rear suspension and RideTech coil springs. In addition, there is a light motorsport wheelset with matching tires, a small spoiler lip at the front and a successful ducktail spoiler lip at the rear. The rest largely corresponds to the series and is particularly convincing with the chrome applications and the two-tone paint. The highlight of the conversion is definitely the Texas Speed GM LS V8 under the hood. An engine with an aluminum block and previously 5,3 liters of displacement, which now has a whopping 7,3 liters and which, thanks to the Tremec six-speed manual transmission, only delivers the power to the rear wheels, which are sometimes significantly overwhelmed. Incidentally, the interior of the C10 was designed much more aggressively for racing than the clean body suggests. There are two Sabelt racing seats, a sports steering wheel, additional Holley displays, a large billet shift lever and a specially adapted roll cage that extends to the loading area and protects the occupants in the event of an accident.

Luxury and comfort are secondary

Luxury and comfort are, of course, of secondary importance, and so the radio that is still there should be the most luxurious extra in the cabin. However, if the pickup is to be used off the racetrack, the former bench can be installed relatively easily. However, it is not surprising that the racer inspired by motorsport is rarely driven on the road. The tuner Level 7 Motorsports specializes in Chevrolet C10 models and also likes to screw on old Camaros, a powerful Chevrolet Blazer to the Jeep Wagoneer.
