Photos by Mecum

This beautiful in Dark red painted 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle was seen at the last live SEMA auto show in 2019. The vehicle is a classic one Restomod and it will be auctioned under the Mecum hammer in May. And since the project is in year 2019 was presented for the first time, it is also clear that it is a particularly fresh and current project. Incidentally, the conversion was made by the tuner based in Nanuet, New York, "SIX12 Auto Worx". And the result is extremely impressive. Especially the clear widened rear area is a feast for the eyes and also the small details like that Ring Brothers rearview mirror or the removed ornamentation. And the oldi actually became stately Pulled 152 mm outwards. Using a handcrafted metal body kit. For this purpose, the tuner installed a modern one Hotchkis sports suspension with electronic dampers including TVS package and lowering.

BiColor forged rims from Forgeline

And there were beautiful all around BiColor forged rims from Forgeline in 19 and 20 inch format with Toyo Proxes tires (285/35 ZR19 and 325/30 ZR20) and of course a completely redesigned cabin. This is where you start Black leather, built Stewart Warner advertisements, a Vintage air conditioning and an ultra-chic one that is flattened at the bottom Billet Specialties sports steering wheel. A classic golf ball gear lever can also be seen in the cabin.

And under the hood? There is the highlight of the renovation. Namely a real monster. The "most powerful engine ever offered in a production Chevy vehicle“As Chevrolet once described it. And that 6,2 liter LT5 V8 with supercharging and Aluminum cooler from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. That delivers impressive 765 hp and a hefty 968 Nm of torque to rear axle.

Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission

Incidentally, the classic is switched with one Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. Thus, the 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle should drive up and away from many current athletes. And in terms of braking performance, it is certainly in no way inferior to a modern vehicle. The reason is the built-in sports brake system from the house of Baer. All around this packs with great perforated and slotted brake discs and Multi-piston calipers neatly too.
