It seems that the world of tuning is no longer as fascinating as the so-called restomods! So old classics with modern technology under the hood! And one of them is this fascinating conversion based on a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle. Not only does it look fantastic, it also has the power and speed that the new look suggests. And the following 13-minute video from AutotopiaLA shows you everything you need to know about the vehicle. The owner is Matt Grant from Northern California who is responsible for the renovation and its countless small details. The 69 Chevelle was bought by his grandparents at the time and served as a family car for years. After that, Matt's mother took over the vehicle and then Matt himself. This means that this car is a purely family vehicle and practically first-hand. And that will probably stay that way because in the video Matt explains that the son will later hold the classic. Under the hood, however, the Chevelle no longer has the original 307 engine, but a much stronger V8 vacuum with a bore of 4,25 inches (approx. 11 cm) and a 4-inch crankshaft that turns the engine into a 454.

the engine has a powerful 700 HP

It has custom-made cylinder heads and an LS-style fuel injection. There was also a 3-inch X-pipe exhaust system with Flowmaster silencers and the vehicle has a maximum output of 700 hp. The chassis was based on a QA1 coilover with four-link rear axle and the setup was careful to achieve a special configuration for drag racing to enable acceleration races on the quarter mile. For the wheelset, the choice fell on Forgeline rims with Cooper tires and the load is braked using the Wilwood brake system. The body is shown in the beautiful red and black color scheme and the interior is completely new. Here is a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro dashboard that has been fitted into the Chevelle cabin and there were new instruments, seats from a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and even a roll cage. Even the trunk is well made and equipped with JL audio components, for example.
