Today I want to tell you something about the one presented yesterday 2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison Pickup tell, which is created in cooperation with the tuner American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). The Colorado ZR2 Bison is the ultimate off-road version of Chevrolet's mid-size pickup truck, which already sets itself apart from the competition with the "normal" ZR2. But the Bison has much more to offer: It stands on 35 inch (0,89 m) off-road tires (OD Mud/Terrain tires), which are mounted on 17 inch AEV beadlock rims. It has more ground clearance, a better approach angle (38,2 degrees), better departure angle (26 degrees) and better ramp angle (26,9 degrees) than the ZR2 and also than its Ford and Toyota rivals. This increases the ground clearance to 12,2 inches (approx. 31 cm).

However, to accommodate the large tires, Chevy engineers had to modify the front fenders (AEV fender flares) and also move the front axle forward by 3,1 inches (approx. 8 cm). But the Bison has also received upgraded suspension that offers the same travel as the ZR2: 9,9 inches (approx. 25 cm) at the front and 11,6 inches (approx. 29 cm) at the rear. In addition, there are special DSSV shock absorbers and spring travel limiters from Multimatic, which ensure better damping and control. The Bison also installed five steel skid plates and rocker protectors protecting the radiator, steering gear, transmission, transfer case, fuel tank and rear differential.
And just in case you do get a flat tyre, there's an AEV vertical spare wheel holder in the cargo area. Under the hood, however, the ZR2 Bison has the same 2,7-litre turbocharged engine as the ZR2, delivering 310 hp and 472 Nm of torque. It is coupled to an eight-speed automatic and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case. The Bison also has an electronically lockable front and rear axle differential for more traction off-road. So it not only looks robust, but it is. The body features a special "Chevrolet" badged grille design, a new hood with air vents, LED headlights and fog lights, and new front and rear AEV bumpers with integrated tow hooks.
something is also happening in the cabin
Incidentally, a cable winch can also be mounted at the front as an option. And the interior features leather-trimmed seats with AEV logos, a heated steering wheel, an 11,3-inch color touchscreen with Google (Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™), a Bose sound system and a wireless charger. The Colorado ZR2 Bison is an impressive pickup that's ready for any adventure. It will be available at retailers from early 2024, but the price is not yet known.
