Chevrolet puts a classic on electric drive! For the current SEMA Auto Show (Start today) the company shows a 450 hp Chevrolet E-10 Restomod that has been converted to electric drive. Is that hot rodding of the future? Why not! The basis is a 1962 C-10 pickup, which is powered by an electric Connect & Cruise concept e-drive with approx. 450 hp. He already brings proven components from the Chevrolet Bolt EV. The E-10 shows the electrical capabilities of Chevrolet using standard components and demonstrates the possibilities of electrical conversion for classic vehicles. This is how the unmistakable vintage style comes on the road in combination with high performance and emission-free driving. The Connect & Cruise concept drive system of the E-10 consists of Chevrolet Performance Concept electric motors (eCrate) which are coupled to two 400-volt batteries and a SuperMatic ™ 4L75-E automatic transmission. Power is supplied by Chevrolet Bolt EV electronics and two standard Bolt EV battery packs. Mounted in the loading area of the truck, each battery pack has 60 kWh of usable energy under the side-opening tonneau cover.

Quarter mile in under 14 seconds

The result is about 450 PS on the bike (at the rear wheels) which accelerate the E-10 to 5 mp / h in just 60 seconds. He can do the quarter mile in just under 14 seconds. And the E-10 can even be "heard". It has a sound emulator with three speakers on board to imitate the sound of a V8. The driver can even choose from five modes. Also included is the LS7 Z28 sound from the Camaro! There is also LS7 Z28 Touring Turning, a V8 engine and even a "futuristic" sound or "quiet" is possible. The noises automatically adapt to the gear change and can therefore hardly be distinguished from the real combustion engine. The built-in modular battery packs of the Bolt EV enable a range for long-distance journeys with "normal use" and are intended to show how suitable the E-10 could be for everyday use. And a lot has also changed visually. The E-10 concept in vintage style combines the classic silhouette of the truck with the typical C-10 bonnet and the strikingly forward-sloping A-pillars with a chic orange paintwork and a particularly clean body, which of course has a special look on the fenders custom-made "E-10" emblem.

The front is staged with a lighted bowtie emblem in the grille and current LED headlamps. And at the rear, the new taillights are equipped with LED technology. But it immediately recognizes that here is a C-10 pickup from the 60er years. Add to that chic aluminum wheels in the format 20 x 9 inch front and 22 x 10 inch rear and of course a brutal lowering and a specially adapted high-performance brake system. And the cabin shows up with a revised original instrument panel with digital displays which, of course, represent all information about the electric drive system. The rest of the interior has been completely restored and the seats have a new leather interior. A really cool parts and only one of nearly a dozen vehicles that the American manufacturer has taken to the SEMA car show. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
