The vehicle type of pickups, which are based on car models, and also in technical jargon Ute is as good as extinct. That was not always the case, however, because in the 1960s, these flatbed sedans were also popular in the United States. Models like a Chevrolet el Camino or a Ford Rancher were absolute bestsellers in the United States, and combined the practical properties of a pickup truck with the dynamic driving qualities of a sedan. In Australia, the Utes class was popular until the late 2010s, but the models fell victim to the red pencil when the big companies called Ford and GM withdrew from Down Under. In other regions of the world, the vehicle class is practically not represented, which is why it no longer makes sense for large corporations to continue to produce vehicles of this type.

Classic American in perfect condition.

Now we're going to provide you with one Chevrolet el Camino from the year 1960 before, which lavishly and with passion restauriert was and one new engine got. In order to get into such a perfect, almost new condition, various measures were of course necessary. So the restoration of the car devoured more than 1.500 working hours, and numerous upgrades have also been made. For example it became a ceramic coated exhaust system including one Flowmaster exhaust installed. Also stopped stabilizers of the company Hotchkiss indentations on the front and rear axles, and there were on the front axle Disc brakes built in with a two-channel ABS.

An electronic fuel pump and 15-inch alloy wheels from American Racing, which, in our opinion, go very well with the classic with their white tread, also found their way to this timelessly beautiful oldie, which also tinted windows and new wipers got. Restored in this way, the El Camino will definitely not only turn the heads of many car fans in America, but would also be well received in Europe at any car meeting that deals with classic automobiles.

Timeless interior with some modern goodies.

The interior is classic, with five round instruments, which is almost in Porsche style except that they are not nested within each other. A modern one Radio found the way to El Camino, and the Automatic selector lever also looks like it was added later. The selector lever is a bit reminiscent of one Handbrake on a Tata Harrier or a Renault Mégane of the last generation. This not only looks extremely cool in our eyes, but is also designed to be very user-friendly.

350 cu. in. motor provides powerful propulsion.

The original 283cu. in. large V8, which was used as standard in the 1960 El Camino, was replaced by a larger V8 suction gasoline engine 350 cu. in (5,7 liters). exchanged. This engine has significantly more power and torque than the series, but unfortunately we do not know how much power the built-in unit actually has. With almost 4.000 miles (approx. 6.437 km) that the El Camino has run since its restoration, it would not make sense from our point of view to chase the Ute over the drag strip, because this car is far too valuable to cover the quarter mile to be burned.
