1960 Chevrolet Impala Restomod with 430 HP V8!

The Chevrolet Impala was launched in 1957 and took its name from a show car that Chevrolet had presented a year earlier. In the decades since the world premiere, Chevrolet launched an incredible ten Impala generations and only in 2020 did it come to an end. However, none were as successful as the first generation! Especially the Gen 1 and the Gen 2 Impala were popular. And this example from 1960 impressively shows why this is the case. The complete restored and restomoded Classic will soon be auctioned in Glendale (Arizona) at a Mecum auction.

It is a second generation vehicle that rolled off the assembly line from 1959 to 1960. Unfortunately, we do not know which engine the car had from the factory. But it was definitely not what drives him now. Because now a Chevrolet LS3 small block is installed, which is usually found in the fifth generation Camaro or the sixth generation Corvette. However, there is also a Crate engine in many custom vehicles, like this one. In the vehicle from the pictures, the V8 sits in combination with an adapted 4L60E automatic under the sheet metal and develops 430 hp.

According to the ad, the engine has only run 2.300 miles (3.700 km) since it was installed and is therefore practically brand new. And optically, in our opinion, the Impala is simply perfect. Painted all white, it has just the right amount of chrome with it (fenders, wheels, moldings, etc.) and there were mirrored panes all around. Visually, only the connoisseur will probably recognize that a few small modifications have been made to the body and the brake system from the Corvette C6 is not immediately noticeable to everyone. On the other hand, the significant lowering of the Impala cannot be overlooked by anyone AccuAir air suspension is reached.

the cabin has also been completely restored

And then there is the gorgeous cabin. The interior of the car is extremely attractive, with a particular focus on the color 'Teal'. Everything from the seats to the dashboard to the carpeting is teal. But don't let the vintage look fool you, because there are many modern conveniences such as Dakota Digital displays to the AM/FM sound system with Bluetooth compatibility (Audio Dynamics). And even a new one Air conditioning is installed. Should we have more info on the changes to the Chevrolet Impala received, there is of course an update for this report.
