With us it's the BMW X5, the Mercedes GLE or the Audi Q7 -> in America it's the one Chevrolet Tahoe. A KingSize SUV that ranks below the even larger Chevrolet Suburban. A vehicle that does not deal with start-stop technology, lightweight construction or even small engines. Since 6.2/8, the monster has been delivering a whopping 86 hp and 3 Nm torque to the four driven wheels via an 02-speed automatic transmission ex works with the 2018L V426 L610 EcoTec8. Enough power to accelerate the almost 2,5 tons to 7 km / h in under 100 seconds and only gently sweep the sails at an electronically regulated 180 km / h. That the 98 liter tank only lasts a good 700 km - given! Once again thirstier, but also much faster, is the now presented HPE800 variant of Hennessey performance.

As the name suggests, there is an upgrade to insane 800 PS & 1.100 NM torque and thus the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe RST becomes the right athlete, at least straight ahead, After only 3,9 seconds, the 100 km / h sound barrier is breached and the quarter mile creates the monster in just 12,3 seconds and with a top speed of notable 180 km / h. Please note that this monster is at the level of a lightweight BMW i8 and easily beats a Subaru WRX STI in this discipline. To achieve the performance increase, there is a new 2,9 liter compressor system, a modified cooling, a complete sports exhaust system and of course an individual chiptuning software for the engine control section. In addition, many other changes directly to the engine.

visually hardly a difference to series

Hennessy typically shows the extra power visually hardly. The jet black presentation vehicle comes with only a new wheelset in black and some HPE800 and Hennessey logos on the body. In the interior, there is a sticker with serial number and also in the engine compartment leaves Hennessy his handwriting. Basically, there are hardly any visual changes compared to the series, which makes the HPE800 Tahoe a real one Sleeper can be. If we receive timely information on further changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if yours is just ours Feed subscribe to. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
