Chip tuning on the BMW 745e ensures 507 HP & 854 NM!

The BMW 745e plug-in hybrid is normally available as a "7 series with plug" (G11 LCI) adequately motorized at the latest from the facelift. After all, the overburdened B48 four-cylinder is no longer working under the hood, but the brand new BMW B58 in-line six with 286 PS & 450 NM in combination with an electric motor that provides 113 PS & 150 Nm of torque. Makes a total of 394 PS and a mighty 600 NM and a factory consumption of 2,3 liters per 100 kilometers. At least on paper! Because it should be clear that you cannot move the box under 6 to 8 liters on average. However, this is still pretty amazing considering the vehicle class. And if you only have a short commute to work, you can even travel 42 kilometers with a fully charged battery without having to use the combustion engine. And that the in-line six-cylinder can shake even more out of its sleeve is now demonstrated by the BR Performance chip tuner.

The team continues to exhaust the capabilities of the B58 engine. After all, the engine in the Z4 M40i enables 340 hp without any problems. So why not also in the 7? BR performance achieved "exclusively“By means of chip tuning, a jump to a mighty 507 HP and a huge 854 Nm of torque. And if you look at the upgrades available in the market for the B58 engine, you will find that the increase in performance isn't really an issue for the engine. We have already seen completely different key data. To what extent, however, especially with regard to the enormous torque, the 8-speed automatic will play along only in the long run.
