521PS & 723Nm in the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9 V6 Turbo

To be honest, since the presentation of the Alfa Romeo Giulia (Type 952) 2.9 V6, with Ferrari F154 V6 bi-turbo engine, I have been waiting for a tuner to take care of the vehicle and show what can be done using chip tuning. Although we have already seen some modified vehicles, it doesn't matter if Speed Buster or  BR-Performance Variation, in both cases it was not the top model! But today we found one and it comes from BR Performance in Luxembourg! The good news That is, of course, the 2.9 V6 Turbo to persuade more power that bad news is that unfortunately the result is significantly different than expected!

The background is that the 510 PS & 600 NM torque should actually be applied, but in reality this vehicle only had 460 PS & 628 NM torque. Of course, in terms of torque it is even more than Alfa says, but 50 hp less does not make up for it. One can only hope that this is an isolated case and that not all vehicles leave the factory so downward. In the days of naturally aspirated engines, for example in the BMW E46 M3 or E39 M5, it was quite common, but at the latest since the new generations with turbocharger / compressor technology have been installed, such downward corrections have been rather unusual.

A shame ... But BR Performance managed to give the Alfa more power than the production vehicle with 521 PS & 723 NM torque, and especially the torque is significantly higher than that of the series with 723NM. If one were to assume the ideal case and the 2.9 V6 would bring its promised 510 PS, then we would now have arrived in regions of 560-570 PS and BMW M5 F10 & Mercedes E63 AMG or Audi RS6 should become interesting opponents. According to BR Performance, it is a Stage 1 tuning, which means that the increase in performance was achieved exclusively by means of chip tuning software.

We assume that by changing the hardware (downpipe, sports exhaust system, etc.) there is a lot more in it and if the vehicle delivers the promised power ex works, then 600+ PS should also be realistic. The best thing is to subscribe to our feed and if there is something new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.
