The following vehicle is crazy! You are probably wondering what is so spectacular about this white, inconspicuous BMW 1er F20 114i (1.6T)? We can tell you, it is an increase in performance that conjures up more than twice the performance from the small N13B16 - 1,6 l engine. The smallest variant of the current series of the BMW 1 series comes with 102 PS & 180 NM torque on the road ex works. But even the small property already does TwinPower Turbo Technology, And as is the case, a whole lot is possible here too, thanks to the changed software. But while performance increases, by means of chip tuning, usually end with something of 30% more performance, the whole thing looks completely different here. Shiftech Lyon squeezes a whopping 224 PS & 306 Newton meters of torque from the unit and is therefore almost on par with the 07i, which has been available since 2016/125, which has the much more powerful B48B20 - 2 liters with 224 PS & 310 NM torque.
If we are correctly informed, only a BMC sports air filter and a new intercooler were installed for chip tuning, there have apparently not been any further changes. At the moment we are not aware of any vehicle in which such an extreme leap in performance can be achieved with such simple measures. While the acceleration from zero to 100 km / h with a standard 114i takes a good 11,2 seconds, the Shiftech version should be close to the 6,5 seconds mark. An absolutely fabulous value that impressively shows the potential of modern engines. Of course, if we get more information about the modifications to the 114i, there is, as always, an update for this report.
