The compact e-runabouts are among the most practical vehicles in the world because they are spacious, relatively compact and extremely fast. The current design language of the LEVC TX comes from the Austin FX4 from 1958, the legendary taxi that was first built by the British Motor Corporation, then by Leyland and finally by Carbodies / LTI, and is fitted with modern components in exactly the right places . With Volvo's technology and local know-how, the London EV Company has celebrated an extreme success on the electric platform.

And based on the LEVC TX, British specialist Clive Sutton has now announced a limited number of “super-luxurious” London taxis. So it is the exhibition vehicle not a single piece, but a whole series! For business customers, e-taxis will start at $ 130.000, and private individuals will need to budget at least $ 155.000. The LEVC TX eCity has an electric motor with 150 hp and has a range of around 130 kilometers. In order for the empty battery to be charged to 80 percent, it takes between 20 minutes and 3 hours of charging time, depending on the charging current. Incidentally, there is also a 1,5-liter three-cylinder from Volvo, which acts as a range extender to recharge the 31 kWh battery while driving. The maximum speed in the taxi is electronically limited to 130 km / h.

And Clive Sutton didn't touch the powertrain. Instead, it was about redesigning the interior. There was also a two-tone paint job on the outside and the Taxi lettering now replaces a "VIP" note. In the VIP cabin, the rear seats are angled and covered with sandalwood leather with Alcantara decoration. And the original high-performance rubber floor has been replaced by a carpet. Hand-made wood veneers are also used in the door panels and the occupants can use new haptic climate controls or an improved sound system with Bluetooth connectivity while driving. The new media system also includes a TV tuner with Apple TV and even a Sony PS4 game console is installed.

It continues with a 5G router and an armrest from Sutton Bespoke between the rear passengers with a cup holder in front of a small refrigerator. A retractable screen acts as a partition between the driver and passengers, providing additional privacy and security. And optimum driver comfort is guaranteed by a fully adjustable power leather seat and a digital instrument cluster. And finally, the soft-close doors provide a touch of Rolls-Royce feeling.
