Unlike the second-generation Z4, the current G29 doesn't have much Bavarian cosiness. It is a curvy roadster that also has a 30% stiffer body. That makes you want more and why should you only ever turn an M3 or M4 into a track tool? BILSTEIN partner Lightweight Performance dared to try the Z4 (story link). The BILSTEIN EVO T29 coilover kit designed for the G1 on the Nordschleife was just right. It is the ideal choice when maximum set-up options are required.

Track tool without everyday handicap

The “T” in the name naturally stands for “Track”. Thus, the street-legal coilover kit also provides a lot of driving fun on the racetrack. Nevertheless, the successor to the legendary BILSTEIN B16 is not lacking in everyday practicality. The EVO T1 for the current generation BMW Z4 will hit the market in September 2021. It will then be available from all BILSTEIN suspension experts or in the manufacturer's online shop.

But which features and properties can the customer expect? Thanks to the 10-fold dual-click adjustment via a flattering aluminum rotary wheel, the pilot can adjust or readjust the landing gear at any time while it is installed. And that without additional tools! The rebound and compression levels can be adjusted to suit your personal driving style in line with the motto “easy to use”. A significantly more precise articulation behavior compared to the series and the more direct contact with the road are just a small foretaste of what sporty Z4 drivers can expect from the dynamic damper recognition.

Lowering between 10 and 35 mm

With the G29, the EVO T1 can be lowered by between 10 and 35 mm, depending on the axle position and engine. This can be varied flexibly at any time without dismantling and noticeably reduces pitching and rolling movements. Every setting variant of the EVO T1 is sensible and safe to drive - this is guaranteed by careful coordination on the test bench and in the BILSTEIN test drive. This took place on the Nürburgring, the test track in Papenburg and various road surface qualities worldwide. Another benefit is the unbeatably cool tuning look due to the lowering. But the chassis itself is also an eye-catcher: in classy matt black and with blue accents, it makes you want a new driving experience. Incidentally, the EVO T1 is the youngest member of the EVO Performance Line, which stands for the latest generation of coilovers from BILSTEIN.
