To this day we have never dated Koenig specials Competition Evolution Ferrari Testarossa heard. But that has now changed! And we would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the conversion from days long past. At that time, Koenig Specials from Munich, under the direction of Willy König, completely transformed the Testarossa into a hypercar at the customer's request. The dynamism and elegance of the original design has been replaced with a much more aggressive look. There was a fat wide body all around, new aprons, side vents in the style of the F40 and eye-catching clear-glass headlights. A fixed rear wing and new exterior mirrors were also part of the conversion. The car also shines in the color "Rosso Corsa" on the outside and inside and, according to our information, was further modified in the 1990s to look a little more like the then popular 512 M. There were different versions of the body kit!
Competition evolution
By the way, one more piece of information: from Koenig-Specials Competition Evolution Ferrari Testarossa there was also a convertible. It continues with the interior. The formerly beige leather interior in the cabin is no longer visible. Instead, you see a KS racing wheel, Recaro bucket seats with Sabelt sports belts, two fire extinguishers, and a cage (bracing) behind the seats.
The side windows have also been replaced by light motorsport windows and there is a complete lack of any comfort equipment. And then there was the engine. The standard V12 got double turbocharging and large intercoolers in the air openings of the rear wheel arch extensions. The cooling in particular was extremely necessary so that the performance is permanently available and the engine does not die of overheating. Because the Testarossa Competition initially had up to 710 hp, then even up to 900 and the highest stage of development brought an insane 1.000 hp onto the road even then.
Purchase price at that time from approx. 350.000 DM
Incidentally, the last vehicle built was a 1987 Ferrari Testarossa Koenig Competition Evolution II (Ferrari 512 Koenig Competition), the one in the pictures. This is one of only 12 units built and only two were technically equipped like this vehicle. According to our information, the vehicle from the pictures was auctioned in Japan in 2019 for more than 30 million yen - 248.000 euros. The purchase price at that time was allegedly even 1 million Deutschmarks. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
