1957 Corvette Super Sport Concept is looking for a new owner!

This vehicle was originally painted red when it left the factory in 1956 and had a hydraulic fabric top that could be opened and closed manually. But Chevrolet chose the Vette to introduce a new technology that is taken for granted these days. It was the Rochester Ramjet called Petrol injection. Even then, the General Motors advertising department knew that it would take more than just plugging a revolutionary engine into a show vehicle, which is why various modifications began shortly after the car was completed. Subsequently, the project was named Corvette Super Sport Concept baptized, and there was a clever marketing move. Now the one-off Corvette, which has already received various prestigious awards, is being auctioned at Mecum in the USA, and it is assumed that the proceeds will be the $ 2 million mark could exceed.

Without a windshield, but with style!

At the moment the car is still in the possession of a lover who has had the piece of jewelery in his inventory for a long time, and who loves it too restored. But let's get to the design of the now in White painted, one-of-a-kind dream car that doesn't have a conventional windshield, but two small ones wind deflector in front of the heads of the driver and front passenger. The design is a mix of styles from the design of classic English roadsters, paired with the unmistakable influence of American designs.

Thanks to the missing Windshield and the missing top, both things that were already removed in the course of the redesign by GM, the car looks ultra-flat and stocky. It almost becomes a minor matter that a blue one too rally stripes was subsequently applied to remind of the racing cars that took part in the 24-hour race in Sebring in the same year. The car finally came into private ownership in the 60s, after having been exhibited as a representative vehicle in various Chevrolet showrooms for several years. Unfortunately, the Corvette was abused shortly afterwards for an illegal street race and was wrecked in the process.

It was then repaired, but changed hands every few years and until 1997 did not get the love it undoubtedly deserves. But in 1997 a collector discovered the vehicle, bought it, and began lovingly and expertly restoring it rather than just repairing it to keep it going. He managed to bring the car back to its original condition.

A 283 cu. in.-V8 petrol engine provides propulsion!

One acts as the engine in this 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Super Sport Concept V8 naturally aspiratedwho already has a Petrol injection with catalytic converter disposes. Unfortunately, we do not know the exact power and torque data. However, the vehicle waits with a manual Three-speed transmission and the power is directed to the rear axle.
