Corvette tuning - almost 70 years of individuality are part of it

The Corvette has many fans. The sports car was launched in the 1950 years for the first time on the market and can look back on a proud past. The Chevrolet Corvette now includes seven generations (C1 to C7 and the racing cars C5-R, C6.R ider C6 Z06-R GT3). Many Corvette owners use autotuning to modify their vehicles to alter the Vette and tailor it to their individual needs. The changes may be visual modifications to the design, but measures designed to increase the performance of the Corvette are also covered and are a very popular tool. What is considered an improvement is generally very broad. For example, the Corvette tuning also includes changes that affect the acoustics of the sports exhaust system and other aspects.

Tuning is individual and in the end, everyone decides for themselves. The first generation of the Vette is the Corvette C1, which started with the "Blue Flame" in-line engine from a truck with a displacement of 3,8 liters at the start. She has appeared on 1953 and has a lot of fans. Until the production was stopped in 1962, the car underwent several changes. Not all C1 copies have the same engine. There was also a small-block V8 with 4,3 liter capacity (195 PS) and later a V8 which made a top speed of 150 mph (241 km / h) possible. 1957 then came an 4,6 liter V8 engine with new petrol injection and 208 kW (283 PS). The range reached 1958 from the V8 with 169 kW (230 PS) to the 213 kW (290 PS) eight-cylinder with modern petrol injection. 1962 even had a 5,3-liter V8 in the C1. Then it was over and it came the successor as C2. The Corvette C2 joined the C1 and had only been in production for five years, making the C2 relatively rare compared to other cars.

The C3 exceeded the production time of the two previous models and was manufactured for almost 1980 years until the 15s. In the 80s and 90s the Corvette C4 and the large C5 appeared - the latter even until 2004. The C6 then appeared in the following year. The current generation is the Corvette C7, which has been manufactured since 2013 but will soon be replaced by the mid-engine C8. Today the Corvette belongs to General Motors, but in Europe it was originally known as the Chevrolet Corvette. The name goes back to the name for a warship. When it comes to autotuning, of course, which model it is exactly plays an important role. Some commercial tuners such as Hennessey Performance or GeigerCars, who do vehicle tuning professionally, explicitly offer Corvette tuning, as every car and every model series has its special features.
