DTM start: CUPRA in copper will lead the field in future!

It has been clear since the beginning of April: CUPRA will provide the safety vehicles in the 2022 DTM season. Now, shortly before the start of the season in Portugal, CUPRA has announced the new livery of the Official Cars: In future, all Official Cars will be copper-colored and will offer a visual highlight both on and off the race track. From a sporty point of view, the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 provides the necessary power. CUPRA is prepared for the start of the DTM season in Portimão in the south of Portugal: the challenger brand is providing two safety cars, two race control cars, a medical car and a leading car. The vehicles will offer special attention and appear in brand new CUPRA Livery: copper colored. Copper-colored details play an important role in the brand CI and in the design concept of CUPRA products. The copper-colored CUPRA emblem is emblazoned on the front apron of the CUPRA models. The rest of the exterior and interior of the CUPRA models also features subtle but effective accents in the brand color.

Extra power through the "ABTgrade"

  • In the future, official cars will appear in the brand color copper
  • Among other things, CUPRA provides the leading car and the safety car

The DTM fan community can look forward to a visual attraction - but the CUPRA vehicles also feel at home on the racetrack in sporting terms. The CUPRA Formentor VZ5 is used as a custom-made product with an upgrade from ABT Sportsline GmbH. With the "ABTgrade" these vehicles have an output of 331 kW (450 hp). The maximum torque increases by 50 Nm to 530 Nm. The CUPRA Formentor can go from 3,9 to 0 km/h in 100 seconds at a top speed of up to 270 km/h.

CUPRA is in action at a total of 30 races

The CUPRA vehicles are in action at all 16 DTM races and at the 14 DTM Trophy races. The events will be broadcast exclusively on ProSieben in Germany. The copper-colored CUPRA Formentor is thus guaranteed an appearance in front of an audience of millions, especially since the respective circuit presentations are made by a prominent racing expert in the CUPRA Formentor.

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
