Top - 420 PS & 630 NM in the Dähler BMW X3 M40i (G01)

Who would have thought that, but now almost every third BMW wears an X in its name. And no one has as much of it as the X3. And the third generation (No.1 -> E83, No.2 -> F25) of the Munich compact SUV would of course like to make everything better compared to its predecessor. A special highlight is the M40i, which competes as an alternative to the Audi SQ5 or Mercedes GLC 43 AMG. And this is exactly the team of the Dähler Design & Technik GmbH made and, in addition to a new pair of shoes, above all gave him a huge increase in performance. As is well known, the top petrol engine comes from the factory with the 360 PS & 500 NM in-line six-cylinder with twin-scroll exhaust gas turbocharger and this has plenty of power reserves.

Dähler ensures a performance leap to 420 PS / 630 and the key data can even be certified to the more realistic WLTP exhaust gas measurement method (Worldwide harmonized light vehicles test procedure). In order to be able to hear the additional power acoustically, there is a stainless steel exhaust system with 4 tailpipes from our own production, which is included in the WLTP process. From 1. Incidentally, new vehicles will have to comply with this standard by September this year. And also visually something has been done because as already mentioned Dähler built an in-house wheelset and here it is the type CDC1 which is also available as an extremely light forged wheel.

So that the wheelset sits perfectly in the wheel arch and the additional power can also be consistently brought onto the road, the X3 has been given a performance chassis from our own production that can be individually adjusted both in height and in hardness. The presentation vehicle also has a set of black kidneys as well as Dähler lettering and “competition line” badgets in the interior. If we get even more details about the changes, there will of course, as always, be an update for this report.
