Cut open: Land Rover Defender Cabriolet!

From the Dutch coachbuilder Heritage Customs there is information about a new project. And to the project "Heritage Customs Valiance Convertible". This is a convertible version of the current Land Rover Defender (L663). And the first official pictures of the conversion show how the Valiance Cabriolet is converted by hand on the basis of a Defender 90 at the company's headquarters. And with a few renderings, Heritage Customs shows in advance what the vehicle should look like after the work is completed. The special colors and, of course, the electrically operated soft top are particularly striking. Heritage wants in 2022 five vehicles build, each estimated to cost more than £100.000. So more than double the base Defender. Luckily the price already includes the base car and conversion costs, which the coachbuilder estimates at around €70.000 (£58.200). There doesn't appear to be any technical changes to the powertrain, but according to Heritage Customs, any Defender 90 - i.e. all vehicles with a short wheelbase - be rebuilt. Also, everyone should be up forged wheels stand and a tailor-made Interior with special panels and optional sports seats as well as subtle changes to the Body obtained.

The co-founder of the company, Niels van Roij, stated that the convertible would be an evolution of the company's existing Defender (the Valiance Custom) be and "the beginning of a journey of discovery", since the "future owners can help design the car of their dreams with the carchitecture program“. He also mentioned: "Owners will find details and components in their Valiance Convertible that have never been seen on a Defender before.Jan-Pieter Kroeze, the second co-owner of Heritage Customs stated that the five interested parties "their ultra-limited, handcrafted Defender along with the semi-electric Soft top hood, some magic metal elements and a handcrafted interior can help shape it exactly according to your wishes“. We are excited! PS: There are many pictures of the conversion at the end of the article. If we get more information, there will of course be an update for this report.
