Limited: the Land Rover Defender Works V8 Trophy II!

With a special edition limited to 25 units, Land Rover Classic pays homage to a legend: The Defender Works V8 Trophy II embodies the great legacy of the classic series, which has covered practically every corner of the earth under its four driven wheels in its almost 70 years of construction. The Defender was and is the first choice for adventurers, researchers and expeditions in particular. The exclusive special model Defender Works V8 Trophy II picks up on this great heritage and recalls the great moments of the spirit of adventure, for which the Defender stands like no other series.

Defender Works V8 Trophy II

For more than seven decades, Land Rover has been synonymous with adventure. Last but not least, one model is responsible for this unique reputation: the Defender and its predecessors from Series I to III. He has traveled paths that previously seemed inaccessible and conquered new territory in even the most remote areas. This is how the Defender became the model of choice for all adventure seekers, but also for countless explorers and explorers.

The Defender Works V8 Trophy II now commemorates this incomparable story - with its foiling depicting 23 locations and destinations around the world that the robust classic from Great Britain has conquered over the past 70 years. For example as part of the unforgettable Camel Trophy, the First Overland Tour in the 1950s, the G4 Challenge - or more recently on adventure tours to southern Africa, Laos or Peru. The body design of the special edition also includes a number of 'hidden' Land Rover models with their iconic shapes and distinctive silhouette.

You will also receive an invitation to the second Land Rover Trophy, an exclusive three-day competition in the British Isles. Participants will be guided and accompanied by off-road experts to master various challenges - inspired by Land Rover adventures around the world. At the end of the three days, the main prize awaits the best-placed in the competitions with points. At the Land Rover Trophy, however, all guests have the opportunity to make new friends and, above all, to get to know their vehicle inside and out under extreme conditions.

Michael van der Sande, Managing Director Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, says: “The Defender has conquered new territory around the world. The new special edition Classic Works V8 Trophy II honors this great legacy of expeditions and adventures - for example with a unique body design that commemorates 23 spectacular locations in Defender history. There is a great deal of love and dedication in each of the 25 edition models. They were carefully selected, dismantled and reassembled in an optimized manner by our passionately committed team of specialists. In this way, buyers get a vehicle with enormously high collector value – and also the opportunity to complete the ultimate test with their Defender at the Land Rover Trophy.”

The candidates for the special edition Defender Works V8 Trophy II were selected from model years 2012 to 2016. Land Rover Classic's experts completely disassembled and meticulously hand-assembled each car to the highest standards and specifications, developed by Land Rover Classic for this purpose. At the same time, the exclusive edition is equipped with modern technology. For example, the Defender Works V8 Trophy II gets the Land Rover 5.0 liter V8 petrol engine with an output of 298 kW (405 hp) and a maximum torque of 515 Nm. That power is sent to the four wheels via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, while Land Rover Classic specialists have given extensive updates to the chassis, steering and brakes.

The Defender Works V8 Trophy II is available in the variants 90 and 110 Station Wagon - also as the first Trophy model as a 110 Double Cab Pick-Up. Only five copies of this further variant are available; the remaining edition of 20 vehicles is divided evenly between 90 and 110 station wagons. The body design is dominated by the colors black and white, complemented by the special foiling developed by the design team at Land Rover Special Vehicles. Most of the outer skin of the Defender Works V8 Trophy II is painted in Fuji White. The roof in Narvik Black, the matt black bonnet and numerous body elements in Gloss Black create contrasts - right down to small details such as rivets, screws and air intakes. The impressive look is rounded off with 18-inch alloy wheels in Gloss Black with a sawtooth design.

With its additional equipment, the Defender Works V8 Trophy II also documents that it can get ahead on any terrain. For example, at the front, in front of the bespoke grille, he mounted a protective A-frame that houses a winch. While the satin-matt surface of the bonnet counteracts glare in bright surroundings, a powerful, 1,27 meter wide LED auxiliary light band ensures the best possible night-time visibility. The Defender Works V8 Trophy II not only has a maximum wading depth of 500 millimeters, but also a rescue eyelet at the rear, side rock sliders and an outer cage to protect the body. A rear ladder makes the expedition roof rack easy to reach, while Land Rover Trophy logos and white logos on the mudguard set attractive visual accents.

The black and white theme also dominates the interior of the Defender Works V8 Trophy II. First and foremost, this applies to the Windsor leather covers of the comfortable and supportive Recaro sports seats, which are joined by contrasting stitching. The dashboard, door panels and headliner are also covered with leather, which underlines the handcrafted appearance of the entire interior. The modern infotainment system developed by Land Rover Classic is still on board the special edition. Functions such as navigation or connectivity for mobile devices are integrated - for the latest multimedia applications in the authentically classic dashboard. The easy-to-grip pistol shift knob of the ZF automatic sets a special accent.

The clock, which is enthroned in the middle of the dashboard, reflects the look of the bodywork with its many adventurous details. It has a dial developed by British watchmaker Elliot Brown. But the cooperation between Land Rover and Elliot Brown goes even further: All buyers of the Defender special edition receive an exclusive and robust chronograph from the specially created "Competitor's Edition". Anyone who is not one of the lucky owners of the Defender Works V8 Trophy II can still own a piece of exclusive flair. Because Elliot Brown has launched a special series of its best-selling model "Holton Professional". Inspired by the Defender Works V8 Trophy II, the chronometer is limited to 1000 pieces.

It has a case made of matt stainless steel with a hardened PVD coating and a soft rubber strap that is as practical as it is elegant. In addition, the watch shows a wealth of elaborately crafted details. These include, for example, hidden silhouettes of classic and current Land Rover models: they are only visible at night or with the help of a UV lamp. The dial is three-colored - here, too, the colors white, ice blue and soft green only glow in the dark. Finally, the look of the Defender Works V8 Trophy II can also be transferred to other Defender models in the future. Throughout the year, Land Rover Classic will launch a range of genuine accessories inspired and influenced by the Trophy aesthetic.
