After Audi was anything but satisfied with the sales figures for the current A4 (B9 / 8W), there was an extensive facelift last year. And of course, the model revision has not passed the top RS4 model of the series. The front in particular has been given a completely new character and continues with the more pointed LED headlights with daytime running lights, the frameless and wider single-frame grille, the large side air intakes and the vertical ones Trim from the VorFacelift and the normal A4. The wheel arches, on the other hand, are still 30 mm wider and luckily the large oval tailpipes at the rear have also remained in combination with the striking rear apron. Anything else would have surprised us with an RS! In the cabin there is the facelift, a sports steering wheel with RS switch for individual driving programs, larger aluminumshift paddles, a 10,1 inch (approx. 26 cm) touchscreen screen, improved voice control, more online functions and the “RS monitor” is also included.
ABT 530 hp (390 kW) and 680 Nm
Nothing has changed except under the hood. While the smaller S4 had to hand over the VW EA839-V6 biturbo and have to make do with the 347 hp VW EA897 evo2 diesel engine, the RS4 retains the 2,9-liter biturbo V6 with an output of 450 hp and 600 Nm. And this engine has the ABT team with the ABT RS4 and RS4 + As is well known, already extensively buttoned. And after a recent flood of ABT vehicles in the form of ABT RS Q8, RS7 and the RS6 presented, of course, the lifted RS4 could not be missing. through ABT Power S. The 2020 model now also receives the 530 hp (390 kW) and 680 Nm torque and is responsible for the high-tech control unit AEC in combination with the ABT auxiliary water cooler kit and the ABT air intake panel. Alternatively, the ABT Engine Control (AEC) control unit is the only way to increase performance to 510 hp (375 kW) and 660 Nm without any further changes. And optically, the revised 4th generation of the sports station wagon can already be equipped with some ABT ingredients.
20-inch Sport GR rims on the 2020 RS4 Avant
An ABT threaded sports suspension for lowering by up to 40 mm is currently available and there are also special sports stabilizers for the front and rear axles. The visual highlight is currently the 20-inch Sport GR rims (optional 21 incher) in glossy black with diamond-trimmed rim flange which were installed on the photo vehicle including the wheel spacers. And we assume that the aerodynamic parts from the VorFacelift (Front lip, front blades, roof edge spoiler, rear apron insert, front grill frame, wheel arch vents etc.) will soon also be available for the 2020 model. The same applies to ABT silencer systems with carbon tailpipes and accessories for the interior. If we get the first information about this, there is of course an update for this report.
