The current BMW 3 Series F31 Touring is definitely the symbol of a family car. If you decide on a model with X-Drive all-wheel drive, the 3 Series is almost an all-rounder that only has one small disadvantage, it looks a bit conservative! But this can already be changed ex works with the M-Sport package and if that's not enough, the entire tuning world is open to you. For the current 3 series, there are various accessories to buy for almost every type of almost every tuner. But whoever has the choice is, as is well known, spoiled for choice and so a decision has to be made. The team from Performance Technic from Houston in the United States recently faced exactly this decision and we would like to show you how the tuner modified the 3 Series in the end. Far from extreme aerodynamic parts or a brutal lowering, Performance Technic approached this very discreetly and, for example, installed a BMW M Performance front spoiler on the front. As a counterpart to this, the rear got a roof spoiler which also came from the BMW tuning program. A chic 10-spoke Dinan 20 inch wheelset replaces the factory rims and so that they do not appear lost in the wheel arches, the 3 series was also subtle lowering using H&R sport springs.

Performance improvements on the MBW 328i

In terms of performance, a lot has happened and so the F31 received a DINANTRONICS Sport Tuner performance increase and a Dinan intercooler that certainly increases the overall performance by a good 40-50PS. The standard 245PS strong N20B20 engine should now poach in the region of the 335i with 306PS. Incidentally, Performance Technic makes the increase in performance audible by means of the Dinan Free Flow sports exhaust system with 2 tailpipes in the standard look. Small details like the black kidneys or the yellow fog lights round off the 3 Series Touring elegantly. The Performance Technic team released the modified F31 the days and we are of course pleased to be able to show you the pictures. After the extensive tuning cure that the 3 Series Touring was allowed to endure, it is now visually significantly changed, more individual and more dynamic than the production version, without being exaggerated or even chubby. Everything seems very well thought out and coherent in my opinion. So if you have been secretly thinking of buying a current 3 Series Touring for a long time, or if you are even a happy owner, Performance Technic is certainly an interesting starting point when it comes to differentiating the vehicle from the production model. And for all those who are not necessarily based in the USA and therefore near the tuner, the vehicle may serve as a tuning template for the local tuning partner.

As far as the further changes to optics or technology are concerned, we have tried to find out the most important details. As always, we have listed what came out of this in a small summary for you in the lower part of the article.
