DMC Tuning shows the Porsche 992 "GT3 RS 97" Concept!

Over the past few years, German tuner DMC has developed a strong affection for the Porsche brand. Above all, the latest model, the 992, received a lot of attention from the Düsseldorf engineers. It is therefore hardly surprising that a wealthy Chinese man approached the team and was looking for a GT3 RS concept study inquired. In 2021, the new Porsche 911 had not yet been officially presented. Therefore, at the beginning of the project, DMC decided to take a visual design approach instead of a complete package. This led to the idea of incorporating Stuttgart retro DNA. This gave DMC the idea of using the look of the penultimate 997 series (992) for the 997. When the 3 GT2006 RS was introduced in XNUMX, the muscular rear hid the wider track. Not only does it optimize directional stability, it also increases potential grip in corners.

The 997 was also increased dragwhile the top speed was somewhat reduced by the larger rear wing. Even then, the car's radical approach caught the attention of fans and it still does today. In the meantime, the 997 GT3 RS has achieved the status of a young icon. To replicate the legendary retro design for the 992, DMC designers first developed the duck wings that held the 997 GT3 RS wing and fitted it to the 992's rear base. Unlike the current 992 GT3, where the wing is above the central air vents, the previous generations of Porsche RS vehicles differ in that the aerodynamic spoiler has always been attached to the bonnet.

In the next step, DMC created a 3D scan of an original 997 GT3 RS wing. Subsequently, its design was copied to the duck spoiler customized. Just like the original, the wing can be adjusted in the angles be adjusted. This results in many settings for roads, racetracks and tourist traffic. Those looking at the bottom line might wonder if that was even necessary. But the goal was never the construction of the next GT3 RS. The base vehicle was too weak for this. Instead, the car that was handed over in Shanghai should rather say to the new owner, "Hey, I'm a 1of1 concept study".
