Dodge Challenger SRT Demon - Fire chair with 852PS

Since the first official teaser pictures & videos of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 13 weeks have already passed and now the hype is over, Dodge puts the numbers on the table! The 6.2L HEMI SRT Demon V8 compressor shares the layout with the well-known 707PS HEMI from the Hellcat, but of course it has been significantly modified. The highlight is the new 2,7 liter compressor which replaces the Hellcat's 2,4 liter. The boost pressure was raised by 11,6psi on now 14,5psi and in terms of speed, it went up. While the Hellcat is spinning to 6.200 RPM, the Demon 6.500 is allowed to rev / min. do. From now on, two petrol pumps provide sufficient fuel, while the Hellcat has one. Result of the effort are breathtaking 852 PS & 1.044 Nm torque which ensure that the front wheels lift off during the sprint and extreme 1,8 g acceleration forces act on the body. The Demon only achieves the new performance values with 100 octane fuel, if you skimp at this point and only fill up with 91 octane I have to be content with "only" 819 PS & 972 NM torque. One way or another, the claim that the new engine is the most powerful V8 engine ever built in series is met.

Cuddle mode with 500PS

But if the power for the daily shopping trip is too much for you, you can use the ignition key to limit the power to 500 PS & 4.000 / min, which makes perfect sense. But the Demon not only got more power, but also from a technical point of view a lot has been considered. A special after-cooling system should, for example, cool the drive down to a tolerable temperature as quickly as possible after a dragstrip operation. Or the TransBrake system, the Launch Control, and due to the significantly increased performance, a reinforced torque converter that ensures that the eight-speed automatic system somehow enables the rocket launches. Everything is just a bit more extreme and of course that also applies to the tires. The 315/40 special dragster slippers, on 18 inch rims, are not only installed at the rear but can also be found on the front axle. In order for these monsters to fit under the wheel arches, they naturally had to be widened significantly. The grip of the tires also ensures that the front lifts a full 90 cm upwards when you accelerate to 2,3 mp / h in just 60 seconds using Lounch Control. The quarter mile should take just 9,65 seconds and the speedometer should end up with 225 km / h. The chassis has also been consistently revised and retuned. It now features adjustable dampers with a specially designed dragstrip configuration. And the Demon has even slimmed down, because it is 90 kg lighter than the Hellcat. This can only be achieved with an absolutely consistent approach and so it is not surprising that numerous comfort features are missing, the front passenger seat is only available as an option, the rear seats and meters of insulation material cannot be found in the first place, and a lot of lightweight components have been built in.

1 dollars for climate, passenger seat etc.

However, who would like to work for 1 dollars retrieve the missing components. And now the catch: you only want to build the Demon for one model year. 3.000 copies are to be created for the US market and only 300 for Canada. Everyone else can watch when the delivery starts in autumn this year. Those who enjoy the Demon can also enjoy a 24-hour race training that is included. 3 years or 36.000 miles guarantee, on the drive even a full 5 years or 60.000 miles, come on top and all that is missing now is a specific price. Have fun watching.
