2023 Dodge Charger Blacktop Edition - special series at the end!

As is well known, new times will dawn at Dodge from 2024. The V8 engines have had their day and are being replaced by electric drives in the successor models of the current Charger/Challenger generation. This is of course a shock for the fans, because sonorous V8 bubbling is now a thing of the past. The Dodge parent company Stellantis is completely rethinking the drive technology and is pushing the electrification of its automobiles. But before the current generation of the Charger is retired, there is one more special one special Edition. This is called Black top edition and belongs to a whole series of so-called Last Call Editions, which should slowly prepare the fans for the generation change.

$2.995 up on the base!

For a mere $2.995 extra, the customer who can choose between the SXT and GT equipment lines receives, for example, glossy black 20-inch alloy wheels, which are installed in 20×9 inches on the GT RWD, while on the SXT RWD, on the AWD and on the GT AWD the dimensions are 20 × 8 inches.

A black performancerear spoiler, a traction control for all speeds, a "GT" badge on the trunk lid, black tailpipes, a black Dodge logo in the grille and a Blacktop Special Edition badge are also part of the package. Dodge has also given the special series a four-piston fixed caliper brake system from Brembo, front mud flaps, black exterior mirror caps and satin black lettering on the rear. There is also a "Last Call" badge under the bonnet, which allows conclusions to be drawn about the production location.

Sporty upgraded interior!

The interior is also not neglected in terms of subtle modifications. It has a sports steering wheel that is flattened at the bottom, shiny black rings around the fittings and various carbon accents. A leather interior is also on board. A 3,6 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with six cylinders drives the vehicle! The V6 engine of the Pentastar series generates a full 3,6 hp from a displacement of 295 liters. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Our conclusion:

  • A cool special edition that should make saying goodbye to the combustion engine in the Charger more bearable. The surcharge is moderate and the equipment is sporty and extensive. We kudos to Dodge for that. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
